Overrated and overhyped

Did you people see the same film I saw?

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

You've got the typical plot line of "I don't want a relationship...oh wait no, I like you". Except the lead role is a woman who has a face that is stuck on a clown smile and she awkwardly loves everything. Every character is a stereotype that was poorly portrayed. You have the douchebag friend who only wants to bang every woman mentioned and the two gay guys who are the back up friends. The whole movie is a big pile of cliché'. It's a little painful to watch. I wouldn't waste any money on it.

I agree with the other reviewers - Nia's acting is awful. Her performance is so forced and her character has this fake smile frozen on her face for the entire movie.The whole storyline & her dating philosophy is so predictable and irritating.The supporting cast of characters are idiotic - I like many of these actors in other roles, but their characters in this movie are the worst.I'm at 49:38 now and I'm stopping this now. I just can't take it anymore.And it's a shame because I really enjoyed "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" - and I loved John Corbett in SATC.

One thing that I've noticed about a lot of comedies lately is a lack of comic energy. This movie has a nice energy, but unfortunately, it's not well written enough to back that up. The performances are okay--Nia Vardalos is a little too perky, and John Corbett pretty much plays the same character over and over again, so he's pretty good in this (he's had practice).Basically, the formula for a classic romantic comedy is: Good energy/pacing + impeccable performances + amazing writing.This movie doesn't really have the latter two, so it was doomed from the get-go--at best it will find a good run on Lifetime.Sorry.

Okay I usually don't review because most of the movies that I watch don't need them may be because 100s of people review them already.But this movie has compelled me to write. First of all this movie is awful,not because I don't like love stories or because of the story of this movie but because of the star cast and the acting. Heroine was trying to hard but it really didn't work and hero OMG he was so dumb through out that I couldn't stand it. The thing that I liked about this movie is that its story is good,it never makes you sad and they have made it very color full makes watchable just for once otherwise I won't recommend this movie to anybody and trust me my choice is not that bad. Still if you don't have anything else to watch with your girlfriend well you could give it a try.
