I'm a big fan of the Hellraiser franchise. Of course, there are some parts are like more than other and I do believe that at one point the franchise started to deteriorate. I found the last few movies pretty disappointing, but it turns out they were nothing compared to Hellraiser: Judgement. The plot is poorly constructed and for a larger part of the movie I had the feeling I was actually watching two stories which are only tangentially connected: one about demons and one about a typical boring cop duo trying to catch a typical boring serial killer. And sadly neither of these is interesting. The cops' story is as stereotypical as they come: two policemen with very different world views are hunting a serial killer murdering people because of their sins. This is a trope that's been used over and over again and in Hellraiser: Judgement we don't see anything new. The writing seems truly lazy here and I can't find one good thing to say about it.The demons' part of the movie is simply gross. Hellraiser movies have always been bloody and violent and I had nothing against that, because I felt that it was their way of showing some pretty universal truth about the nature of desire and lust. What I don't remember them being - at least to the extreme seen here - is disgusting. We get naked demon girls judging people by touching vomit. We get them showered in blood. We get a living animal sawn into a dead woman's womb. Torture scenes look more like Hostel than Hellraiser and I found the gore excessive and unnecessary. To make things even worse, the character which has always interested me the most, that is Pinhead, is hardly in the movie. A new demon is introduced and for the first part of the movie Pinhead just sits in a chair and speaks only a few words. Luckily, in the last 15 minutes of the movie there is more of him and that is the only fragment that really feels like Hellraiser. Only this last part redeems the movie and stops me from giving it a one-star review.

This is a movie that I waited for a lot of time, unfortunately it was not exactly what I expected, the film has very high points that makes it a great movie in the series, compared to 8 and 7 this one even deserved an Oscar XD, but it has terrible failures, first of all, speaking good things, the best was the setting, this new pinhead this magnificent, that actor was great, even the voice is similar to doug, other things, they brought parts of the first movie and several classic monsters, the amount of fanservice is great, it's cool to see that it was not a noob director who made a random movie and only used the title of the series, now comes the negative point, the plot is too shallow, and I have all the time a sensation of "I've seen it before", it reminds me a lot of hellraiser 5: Inferno, so less confusing, the story does not hold and the movie ends so fast that it seems like a short film, there is no time for you to get excited It is not bad, but is far from being great, at least shows that the series has to be good again, who knows next time with a stronger script and more money ... this one I do not recommend, but also not I think it's a waste of time if you enjoy the entire series.

Not even worth reviewing. Nothing similar with original movie. Bad screenwriting, worse directing and picture, the worst masks and acting I had ever seen *well, almost the worst). It has no point, it has no plot, it only has titties, which are not even a point of anything in the movie. Loss of time and money.

The Hellraiser series nosedived with the previous entry, Revelations. Honestly, no one can tell me there is any value to that film, outside of some good gore gags and makeup. So, the fans lost all confidence when a new entry, Judgment, was put into production. But Gary Tunnicliffe, a Hellraiser series mainstay, promised us something good and made with care.Well, Judgment suffers from one thing: a tiny budget. And what I imagine was a rushed filming schedule. Which is too bad because Judgment is a big improvement and a unique entry into the Hellraiser series. Lots of gore, surreal imagery, and yes, Pinhead does his thing. Paul Taylor is a solid Pinhead- no Doug Bradley, but who is? Is Mr. Taylor is in for the long haul, then so am I. The plot is basically a take on Se7en set in Oklahoma City. Nothing mindblowing mind you, and there is a twist which I will not reveal. But fro a technical standpoint Judgment is well made. Good effects, acting from all involved, and the plot is interesting. There is one bad performance, from the girl who plays what I think was an angel. You'll see what I mean.Still, Hellraiser fans, don't despair. It's really not all that bad.
