I like Black Panther, but I didn't like this movie.
... View MoreInstead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
... View Morea film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

... View More...along with writer.Seriously, the writer of this awful excuse for a film belongs in a sanitarium. The entire movie is complete trash and a complete insult to the 80's genre, not a homage. The acting is pure trash, consisting of a bunch of people shouting as loud as possible while not being able to string three words together without swearing. The gore is over the top and mingled with pure porn, the so called 'horror' is just pure sickness of the mind. Do yourself a favour, don't even start watching this disgrace to the film industry and the horror genre.
... View MoreCongratulations, Gutterballs. You are the only horror movie that has ever succeeded in offending me. Are you happy? You should be! I've seen many horror movies, good, bad, sick, twisted, over the top...but GUTTERBALLS takes the doughnut! How was this golden event achieved? Well, for starters, let's get down to business with the problems this film has. Does a rape scene in a movie need to exceed eight seconds, much less 8 MINUTES? I think we get the point, I can see how you want to tie this in with a story, I just can't understand why anyone would be entertained by watching this unnecessary BS for an extended period of time. I Spit On Your Grave didn't even do that. Let's explore some other major problems with GUTTERBALLS...do you have to drop the F bomb every 30 seconds? I once read that Tigerland ( 2000) was in the Guiness Book Of World Records for the most swear words in a movie, but I could honestly tell you that this movie doesn't hold a candle to that, because this is the kind of movie that makes you want to take a shower after you're done watching it. Now, next bash: the killings. Can you tell me why, after 30 or 40 years of making trash films like this, that we are not putting a little more effort into making it look a little more realistic. Even the blood on the movie poster looks fake, for crying out loud, is that the same movie poster for Maniac back in the 80's? Okay, on to our next problem: the story. Okay, let's be fair, it's a slasher movie, does there need to be one? As if all the things I mentioned doesn't make this a shotty thing to watch, Gutterballs has the most silly arse costume they make the killer walk around in. ( And I mean walk, lot of walking, lazy, lazy walking) It doesn't even come close to being remotely scary. The mask almost looks like a logo for a worldwide known company, was there even a discussion about any of this before they shot this movie on a cheap set? On the bright side ( not very bright), we have some strong acting performances by a few of the actors and actresses. And you'll know who they are, trust me, this movie doesn't try to hide the bad actors from the good. A couple of the kills were worth noting. I want it to be clear that the 5 stars I've given this was because of the acting performances, otherwise it would have been 4. Enjoy the fake blood, folks!
... View More*** This review may contain spoilers *** I thought the acting was bad and the death scenes weren't that good but it was a very good movie in a weird way. The rape scene is about 8 to 9 minutes long and very hard to watch. Ryan Nicholson must have been a very disturbed child for what he put in this movie and his other ones. But this one was "okay" in a weird way for me. If you want to watch go ahead but if you hate the word "Fuck" then you shouldn't watch this cause they say it about 600 times. I like the costume of "BBK" and some of the death weapons but not all. Steve getting beaten by a bowling pin was a good death scene I was waiting for that.
... View MoreI don't get why this movie is listed under comedy. It deterred me from seeing it for so long, but I have learned my lesson not to judge a movie from it's (marketed) genre. You see, I detest 99% of comedy movies. Jim Carry and Adam Sandler Will Farrel and Steve Carrell have never made me laugh the way everyone else seems to respond to them almost institutionally. And even tho i'm a horror/dark drama/gorest-y type I have never really known a horror movie that doubled well as a comedy (intentionally that is) ex1 Slumber Party MassacreThe comedy is certainly low brow. It's not exploitative of women it's equal opportunity exploitative of all the genders in the spectrum (i say this because the movie happens to have an ambiguously gendered preoperative transsexual as one of the key characters.) "She" --i'm telling u this as a member of the LGBT community myself] that if you truly wish to be polite-- 'they' want to be referred to as the gender they are PRESENTING. It's really pretty simple but the movie does address and trample the issue in a funny way. (You need to have a sense of humor:P)The movie also features borderline XXX HETERO-sex as well. Points for this a nod to Jess Franco? Also another awesome bonus is the very ambiguous(80's?)time setting with a very arcadey vintage touch. Not the annoying hipster kind :)So rent it buy it see it. Easily the best Slasher since Scream (1996) and don't be deterred by the comedy as it just happens yo be silly.Acting : 6 /10 Kills : 10/10 Gore : 10/10
