... View Morea film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
... View MoreA story about a girl who has everything, including a father who sometimes looks like Adolph Hitler. Parts of this story were a pain to me, the first time that I saw it. She has everything, including two people who look down on her. Except that as the events progress she shows even more of her everything and they end up happy that she is around. After the first viewing I was soon starting to find this to be a rather nice story, one of Lindsay's best. She has everything, including fashion. The name New York Fashion is well known to me from many easy to read type romantic novels in the 80's and 90's. This is shown here in capital letters. The mid teens 2001ish range anyway. Suddenly it is a name that is positive and vibrant, not just a tag. Lindsay as a special ambassador showing that the expensive side of New York can rate a stately honour.* Update at October 2008 Having just seen Clueless 1995, these two feel interlinked. This is a story about 15s acted by 15s. Not 15s by 18s. The story is set on the opposite coast to the city of La. This does not attempt to justify its existence by way of links to literature. She has a distinctive way of starting the day, communion with her wardrobe. She is influenced by her adulation of her dad's ways, just he looks like Adolph Hitler. This is centred on a murder of a pet Russian, it is not a Christian slater. Teachers are shown to have a need for a right to privacy. The ending includes two teachers marrying. It is a Disney, not a Paramount.
... View MoreThis movie was great!Although it is quite impossible for four PRE-teens to solve a mystery that couldn't be solved by even the detectives who were on the case,I liked it because of the discussions on fashion between Lexy(Linsay Lohan)and Jennifer(Brenda Song),Lexy's best friend.Lexy,a budding journalist from Millington Preparotary School(located at Manhattan),who happened to be a very wealthy student with great fashion sense like everyone else at her school(like me...hehehe!!!-I am very materialistic, according to everyone who knows me),was honored by having her article scanned and published in the Daily Examiner. However, the next day her teacher goes missing and now she thinks that she had something to do with her teacher's,Mr.Orlando Walker, disappearance. So together with her fellow wealthy fashion buff,Jennifer, another friend,Gabe(Ali Mukkadam) who is obsessed with photography who is also rich, and her underprivileged rival,Jack(Bug Hall), crack the case. The details would flip anyone who sees this movie! The question,"So what exactly happened?",would be popping in your mind till the end of the movie! So,I shall give this movie 10 STARS!!!
... View MoreGet a Clue was so-so. Though the characters were well-dressed, and the plot was pretty mysterious, AT LEAST they could have made it adults! I mean, I know it's a disney channel original, but this is one of their weaker ones. Lindsay Lohan was decent, Bug Hall was alright, and Lindsay's friend's only part in the movie was to act like "oh my god, Lexy, I just got the PERFECT outfit" and can barely portray that. It's not a great movie. It was alright, though the way they got her teacher back was unrealistic!
... View MoreMany people don't get the whole superficial girls thing. It's supposed to be like that, as glamour girls turn into good spied. It's a joke, the funny part about the plot. Lindsay Lohan is an awesome actress, and very versatile, handling the part of Lexy well. And what happened to Bug Hall? He got cute!
