Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

... View MoreI really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
... View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
... View MoreThis is hilarious! It's the funniest science fiction comedy film that I've ever seen. The title of the film and of the characters are comedy genius! It deserves to be remade as a high-budget feature film. Imagine how great it would be with Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Will Smith playing lead roles!
... View MoreI've got to be totally honest here and say what attracted me to this film was its title. Being a white heterosexual male( Honest ) I was intrigued that GAYNIGGERS FROM OUTER SPACE was going to be some in yer face counter culture to political correctness with some crass but funny outrageous humour . I guess there's poetic justice in my unfashionable attitude that meant all I succeeded in doing was wasting 30 minutes of my life The plot involves a spaceship full of funky disco dudes visiting locations on planet Earth , disintegrating the occasional woman and giving men a hug . That's it . There's no homoerotic quality , there's no humour either intentional or unintentional and there's nothing to be offended about one way or the other . Well apart from the offence that I could have spent 30 minutes doing something more constructive like watching a film that " was so bad that it was good " The film is shot in black and white , has the production values of the worst film student imaginable and not even the awful dubbing is amusing . There's also factual errors such as there being only 14 million German women and when you're pointing out factual errors in a film called GAYNIGGERS FROM OUTER SPACE you just know you're wasting your life
... View MoreGayniggers from Outer Space is pretty much summed up by its name. Running only 27 minutes long, it describes a spaceship of gay blacks that come to Earth to free the men from women. While I see a little significance to the plot, it also is really illogical. Granted, its meant to be a comedy/spoof on society and science fiction. I found myself laughing several times, so it succeeds there. The special effects are horrible. When the spaceship is floating above the Earth, you can see stars zoom by for no apparent reason. The asteroids shown in the beginning look fake, the equipment on the ship is illogical, there are several misspellings in the text, the actors are unconvincing, the characters are messed up; in general, the whole thing doesn't take itself seriously. If you get past all the aspects that make it a bad movie, its very accessible and easy to see through to the end. Some parts are hilarious. But overall, the only thing that you are left remembering is that it was one of the most ridiculous concepts ever.Seeing that its a short film and has some funny aspects, its not the worst thing to see. But its illogical and holds little long-term value. I can't really recommend it; if you do watch it, do so for the unique concept, not the quality.
... View Morei abhor all these comments on whether this movie is supposeed to be "funny" this is an honest and sincere portrayal of an intelligent and sensitive culture that you simply failed to understand. the subtle drama of being gay, being black, and being in outer space. this poignantly short masterpiece captures better than any other movie i've seen the true, and compassionate nature of higher beings from a more advanced sexual realm.obviously this was never meant to be comedy, and could never be mistaken as such except by crude, illiterate, non-homosexual earth people. perhaps to you, the idea of an advanced civilization based on higher concepts like gay love, and rectal exploration should be a joke. but to the civilised universe, where triforce anal probes and flavored lubrication jelly form the basis of enlightened philosophy, these things are a way of life, and this movie is anelegant portrayal of that life.
