I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks.The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

I can't believe this movie got such a low rating, especially since I thought it was better than Inception. A scientist creates a device that a see into peoples memories. When the Department of Corrections hear about this they are interested. A convicted murderer jumps at the chance to be a volunteer. He wants to prove his innocence to the crime, and this would be the only way. He is a heroin addict, with a hard father, who confessed at the crime of killing his girlfriend. The reason for his confession was pressure by the detectives. Through the help of the scientist, he will remember the night of the murder, and find out who is really responsible. This movie is incredible, the only actor I recognized was Frank Ashmore. I hope this review helped I tried not to give away too much, a solid thriller you will be glad you watched.THX, Kris L. I only watched this movie because of a pretty good score in Netflix. This is a very good movie, great idea and good acting. I have no idea why this movie was so poorly reviewed. The story is classy science fiction about a scientist stuck in his own mind reading experiment and desperately trying to find his way out. During a prototype demonstration to replay the murder of a young woman the scientist accidentally stayed in the mind of the accused person and his body fell into a coma. With the help of the guy he tries to find a way back. There a some nice plot twists and a satisfying end. I liked the movie very much and can only recommend it. Don't listen to the bad reviews and give it a try.

A fascinating idea for a story.Thomas Jacobs is an inventor who creates a machine he hopes to help people with Trauma to overcome their past and move on, but others see potential to prove criminals guilt – Desperate for funding, Jacobs agrees to test the device and become trapped in the memories of an alleged killer.Technical issues aside, the film runs very smoothly and has a very interesting story – Yes, there are technical issues such as Jacobs being in a coma for four years as his mind is trapped elsewhere so by rights his body is not going to be in a good condition… But that's for serious nit pickers! It's a Sci-Fi Story after all… Travelling the memories of his host is quite fascinating… And worked really well, little touches such as pulling the leaves of a plant only for them to reappear still attached just reinforce that Jacobs is living in a memory – As much as he tries he can physically change nothing.For some people, the human element will not be to their liking – It's been a big complaint of many Sci-Fi Movies lately, Robocop (2014) being heavily hammered by the critics for this.Personally, I look at it another way… If it is done WELL – Then it is acceptable! And this film does it very well… It is a film that will make you think about many things by the end of it and even question some of your own memories.Effects wise – Honestly there are not too many but it does not need them – This is proper story telling at its best, and something Hollywood could learn from.While it will not be to everyone's taste, it's a great movie and well worth a watch… If there is a strong criticism it is that this is one of those films that you will watch and maybe won't watch again for some time…An engaging story – Even one full of action – Is what makes a good film… Not Billion dollar budget Special CGI Effects.Effects: (Out of 5) 3 Story: (Out of 5) 4 Replay Value: (Out of 5) 2 Overall: 9/15

Engrossing content. Unexpected plot twists. Believable characters. Very unique story line. This movie is total trip and worth the time. Normally would rate this around 7. With the unbelievably low rating, however, I had to go 9. Watch how the good people in people comes out in all the people. While there may be comparisons, digressions, and bigger budgets, Extracted was not a waste of my time. In fact, quite the opposite. The acting, pacing, effects, plot were all enthralling and I am done with this review now. Extraction should be rated between 6.8-7.5 IMHO. Any attempts at memory and mind implantation are riddled with plot holes. This movie has few and is worthy.
