Purely Joyful Movie!
... View MoreGreat visuals, story delivers no surprises
... View MoreThe movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
... View MoreIt's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
... View MoreVery nice acting and the movie was thrilling and breath taken. But for real the mother should have take water for here child and some snack on boat trip like that
... View MoreThe only conclusion I have after watching Extortion is that it could have been much better. The movie is entertaining, there is no doubt about that, but there are too many plot holes in the story. Many times I was thinking "How the hell could he knew that?, That's not possible, Yeah right, and so on". And that's never good in a well balanced story. The acting wasn't bad though, but it could have been better sometimes. The ending wasn't great either, I thought they were just tired of writing a good ending for a movie that could have been much better if they put a bit more effort into it. But to watch once it's okay if you just want some entertaining and you are not to fuzzy about the perfection in a story.

... View MoreI saw the movie just minutes ago. 5/10 points. Which is "worth seeing" on my scale. Then I saw your review, 'chichieze'. I want to review your review, because the "unbelievable things" you tell about, are not "unbelievable" at all. Let me explain, why:"1. The Spanish captain getting hit by a truck on an empty street." - Yes. Many accidents happen on empty streets, when drivers lose their focus, especially when tired, about to fall asleep or playing with their phone or themselves."2. The Spanish captain pointing to the island on his last dying breath." - You could not ignore his expressions, body language and attitude since the very first moment you saw his face. He never agreed what his friend was doing, he did not feel good about that cruelty. Probably, I would have done the same on my last breath."3. The dad finding the Spanish captain on the exact same bus he randomly got on. - Yes, on the bus, heading to the "empty streets". I can tell, if you live in a little town or countryside where distances are long and there is no millions of people around, you may spot people surprisingly easy sometimes."4. The spear going off, then killing the daughter, then stabbing the dad, after it was being laid down on a table gently." - You are right, the harpoon seems to be reloaded on the table right after that. If goofs of this scale make movies unrealistic... how realistic is the real world we live in..."5. The dad not being able to carry the wife to the boat, which is 10 more feet." - In the end? That is clearly like 300 feet (or about 100 meter), as seen from the helicopter. And if you really are fighting over your limits on adrenaline rush, it is possible to collapse 1 foot before the boat. Or just after you have got on the boat."6. The dad using CPR to save his son from Starvation/Dehydration." - The diagnosis of starvation and dehydration is made by your mind. It is likely to get dehydrated in such conditions, but water alone does not help much, if unconscious person does not breath or there is no pulse? Bursting water or food in the mouth of someone in that condition could be quite a catastrophic decision? Food and water work in stomach, not in the lungs. The dad is using CPR to help the brains get oxygen and the blood flowing. Then it will be time to think about a lunch."7. The dad escaping 4 police officers after his wrestles a gun from one as he is recovering from a stab wound." - There are 2 police officers in uniforms and one detective, who I don't see carrying a gun. The fourth guy is from MOFA. These people do not carry firearms for sure. The dad is having a police officer as a hostage pointing him with a loaded gun. That helps a lot to escape. About the stab wound... what you can tell about that. Man in trouble gets "supernatural" powers sometimes, in real situation. There is no sense of pain but a pure fighter mode on. Adrenaline rush."8. The villain asking for 1 million dollars to begin with." - Exactly, I would have done the same. Just after the dad made a mistake telling he is a doctor? Come on. And the _dad_ began the bargain and offered 10,000 dollars right away. Then 40,000 dollars before the villain got even chance to talk. To ask for a million dollars after that is not really unbelievable in a situation like that? The dad did not tell he is an "artist" and he did not offer 100 dollars first? He made it clear he is wiling to pay. So that is the consequence."9. Him negotiating with police after he is wanted for a double murder." - That did not happen in Chicago?I have been IMDb user for 12 years and this is my first "review" ever. Right now you seem to have been here for 4 weeks. And that is fine. But your review is not only suspiciously unfair. It is being unrealistic itself.
