The Worst Film Ever
... View MoreSadly Over-hyped
... View MoreThe biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
... View MoreThis is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
... View MorePromising and weird. It just feels like there could have been at least another hour to explain it all. It just kind of ends. Disappointed.
... View MoreI am typically not the one to stay away from challenging cinema that requires certain critical thinking, but this title just does not work. At least not in the movie form. I have not read the book and perhaps it makes more sense as a literature piece, but the movie leaves just waaaaay too much open to interpretation. Like I said, interpreting some stuff could be fun, but in this case it almost feels like there is nothing to base it on to begin with. The redeeming quality of the movie is the presentation itself. Very dark and atmospheric with perfect kind soundtrack. Has a very similar feel to The Machinist (another great movie of this kind, btw).
... View MoreThis was so so bad. I wat he's the whole thing wondering wtf. I wish I could have those 90 minutes back.
... View MoreIf I could, I'd give this a 5.5 because that more accurately represents my take on this film. I wanted to love it really badly because not only am I a Jake Gyllenhaal fan, but the film take place in my home of both Toronto and Mississauga. I'll admit I was on the edge of my seat and intrigued just waiting to find out how in the hell the writer was going to explain how this was possible, but to my disappointment there is no payoff. The ending is symbolic and despite many theories, there really is no concrete reason for that spider ending. This whole film felt like a fever dream, but it was different so I'll give it that.
