It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

This is my 1st review on here and I'm reviewing it so people actually give it a shot they WON'T regret. 1stly don't go into it expecting the original that's just foolishness, if you're going to watch it then watch it for the sake of the movie and not its predecessor as that is in a completely different league of its own as this one is too for its time and what it represents. It starts off terribly where I was literally laughing at how bad it was If anyone rates the movies based on the start it would be a wasted experience that's so good i literally can't wait to watch it all again. In a nutshell i cried no less than 3 times a combination of joy, awe and sorrow combined go throughout the film and lost track of how many times I screamed at certain scenes. It is raw, emotional, heart wrenching and complete contradictions of what's expected from start to finish and that's what i loved about it & it's only as the movie progresses does the beauty of that manifest. It's a masterpiece that will never get its due based on the offshoot of the original and that is simply the reality of it.It was trully one of my favourite movies ever watched which says so much in this day'n age where everything is about making the next buck and nothing about the viewers and actors and experiences anymore.I was going to give it an 8 but by the end of the movie it was a definite 10

She had more chemistry with Neil than Johnny. That is sad. A waste. This was horrible. It seems like the father had a crush on baby and the guy that plays Johnny was dull and not attractive. The girl that plays baby CANNOT dance she seems like she is still in dance class and I dunno. IT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But i like the music.

In fact I'm thankful for 3 hours movie. Why?? because I laughed so hard! I just watched it now on TV, six months after they released it. I'm not an easy laugh person but I swear with this joke-parody-remake I had the time of my life laughing so hard. Well it was half laughing, half awkward - painful to see in a lot of scenes. I had the need of stop looking at the screen sometimes for the embarrassing moments the main characters were playing. Abigail is the worst of the movie. It looks like the whole production is mocking her by making her ugly, silly, stiff, NUMB! I almost felt pity for her. But lets not forget she's a grown up woman now, enough to auto-evaluate herself and recognize she's not in the mood or with the skills to play that role. She looked like on drugs, as I said, numb and slow, like she wasn't completely on her mind... And it's not because of her weight, it's not about if she's fit or not, because we all have seen Hairspray and the main character was a chubby, fatty girl, and she Nailed it! come on... it's not about the body, it's about the attitude. Did they do it on purpose, about dressing and make up them all horribly?? Specially Abigail?? Well, they succeed, Congratulations! And thanks again for the laughs. Now I know what to do every time I feel sad or depressed. Just watch it, but not with a serious thought, only as an absurd parody such as Scary movie, and laugh. Who would have thought they were trying to awaken our sense of humor!P.D. They had to be, in a parallel Universe were the whole and last product movie seemed right.

This movie is so bad I couldn't watch it until the end. fifteen minutes in or so and you already know that this is so much worse than the original. I mean, if you are going to do a remake you have to try to make it more modern or add something to the mix. Not do the same but simply much worse. The acting was terrible.
