the audience applauded
... View MoreToo much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,
... View MoreGreat story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
... View MoreOne of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
... View MoreShocking absolutely shocking. What in the hell possessed you to make this film. Seems the writer liked lsd terrible
... View MoreI'm not sure what film the other reviewer on here saw but the DARK SHADE CREEK I watched was a complete piece of junk and nothing more than a waste of time slasher effort. Once against the plot is of the old, very tired, let's-go-camping-in-the-woods variety, as a bunch of airhead guys take a trip that quickly turns deadly. Most of the running time consists of a bunch of guys hanging around in a garage and chatting about everyday trivia. Exciting it isn't. The low budget look is very typical and the film lacks the kind of style or effort to make it a good one. The gore literally consists of lumps of raw meat being chucked around. I hated it.
... View MoreIf you are a horror buff, you will have seen a film like this before: a mixed group head off to the woods, ignore warnings from the locals, encounter ghoul...You know the rest. How many of them are killed? Is there a twist in the ending? Are there other bad guys? It matters not. This film is about murder. And murder. And murder. There is no plot as such, but reasonably good mild special effects. The soundtrack is, um, eclectic.Having said all that, and yes, it is rubbish, it was made on a budget of $500, largely by one family, and frankly it is no worse than many similar films with several hundred times the bankroll. The major criticism to be made of it is that it is too slow, far too slow in places, but in comparison with the aforementioned far more expensive efforts, the people who put it together have nothing of which to be ashamed.
... View More***SPOILERS*** Going to spend the weekend in the wilds of rural Pennsylvania a group of young people get the surprise of their lives in running in to the the crazed and LSD brain damaged lumberjack Cyrus who's been hunting the woods around "Dark Shade Creek" for the last 40 or so years. It's when the vacationers, Emma Vanessa Paige Chuck Doug & Spank, got to the place that all hell broke loose! Not just for them but all those in the vicinity of "Shade Creek" who in fact warned that they to stay away from it! The usual slasher on the loose movie taking place in the wilds and unaccessible, by cell phone, woods of Pennsylvania has Cyrus, who by then must be well into his 70's, do the kind of job on his more or less helpless and not to bright victims as good as Michael Myers or Jason with hockey mask did in the "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" movies did on theirs. There's the usual and predictable heroic of the hero in the flick who we can spot as soon as he or she appears on the screen. As well as the not so surprising surprise ending but the film hold up and keeps the both tension and horror going for it almost its entire 90 minutes of screen time. That's far more here then you can expect from like wise horror/slasher movies that cost a lot more and are far more well known as "Dark Shade Creek" is.One fact about the movie is how well made it was despite it's microscopic budget of a measly pocket change amount of $500.00! That was just enough to buy a video or camcorder and a couple of DVD disks or video tapes to make it! Yet it's as good if not better then movies of that type that cost millions and had well known actors and actresses in them!
