It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

It was a miracle that the first animated Batman movie was released theatrically, but unfortunately we didn't get another one for the second animated Batman movie. This film once again has the trouble of being too short. For something based on a TV show, that can be a problem. It was great to see Barbara Gordon appear in this unlike the Phantasm movie, but unfortunately we barely see her as Batgirl at all! Phantasm was a tough act to follow, but this is still a good movie. You could technically consider it a direct to video sequel. If so, it's easily one of the best of its kind ever made.Weird to have a Batman movie with the villain's name in the title. It's great to see this awesome animation again, although by this point the show had actually changed its animation, but it still had the feel of the classic Fleischer cartoons. As a huge fan of "Justice League" it's great to see the DC Animated Universe in all its glory. The best part is probably at the end where Batman and Mr. Freeze actually help each other. Freeze's wife ends up surviving and he more or less got what he wanted. We want to see a great tragic villain be redeemed in any way possible. Oh, and nice to see Robin here too. ***

If this film was only more than 1 hour it would be even more better. That was the only thing that bagged me we don't see Batgirl too much and Batman isn't really that much of the leading character here but the animation is good and the action is good if they could turn Batman & Robin like that then the franchise wouldn't be terminated like that. The film came out on 1998 one year after Batman 4 and it has Kevin Conroy as Batman once more although is never as good as Mask Of The Phantasm and The Return Of The Joker is still a good Batman film with great characters and a pretty cool story. I give it a 10 because i had fun with it.

I don't really know what to say about this movie,it's a masterpiece,a work of art. I enjoyed every second of it,the animation, the atmosphere, voices and the plot.I am a newer batman fan, I've started watching Batman in the middle of 2010. and I've first started with the movies, then with games and then with the animated series. Because of "Batman & Robin", I've never really like Mr. Freeze, until I heard this version of the story. The beauty and darkness of Mr. Freeze's life and his motives of becoming a villain. I love almost every Batman villain, but by my standards, the perfect villain isn't a homicidal maniac whose sole purpose is inflicting pain on others. Freeze,on the other hand, is nothing more than a victim of the circumstance, he only cares for his wife's well-being. She is the only person who has ever been kind to him, therefore, he would do anything just for her. Being a sociopath,I can relate to him because I also cherish the people who are kind to me.As for the storyline,It's a basic superhero plot, batman saves the day, everyone is happy, but despite that, the movie gave me a thrill, this is probably the first superhero movie that made me nervous during the last scene. You can find yourself cheering for Freeze,of course, you don't want him to kill an innocent person, but you want him to be happy,I wanted him a happy ending, which he got,in one way or another. My favorite scene is probably the ending when he hears his wife has been revived and he sheds tears of joy. There is nothing more touching than tears of someone dead to emotions. The lack of Batman screen time doesn't really bother me because Batman movies are always remembered for their villains.I haven't met anyone yet who hasn't praised a batman movie for their villains. Also, batman doesn't really have an exciting background,if we don't count his past,he is a billionaire who lives in luxury, unlike the villains whom you remember for their past and the motives for their deeds. In conclusion,if you are a true Batman fan or if you just love a thrilling story,I truly recommend this movie. You'll laugh, you'll cry,and the ending gives you a sense of relief and a feeling of strange happiness.

This time Batman is not the protagonist. That doesn't mean anything since I don't found in Batman the protagonist of the fantastic The Dark Knight. I love many enemies of the superheroes and for sure they can be really great characters. This one-hour movie is about Mr. Freeze, basically we see him as a desperate man trying to save his wife. We have pretty much a great premise for animated Batman stuff that must be somehow special and not only because of the longer runtime. It's great because we have an enemy who is not "working" and is having calm days. Is basically for an accident that Mr. Freeze is in Gotham again, now really desperate. So it's great because we know that Mr. Freeze will do anything in order to save his wife and because we know that at one point Batman and pals will be the only ones who can stop Mr. Freeze. Here the "romance" between Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon will place them as the protagonist of the first part of the movie and also the relevant fact that Mr. Freeze's wife needs a transplant and Mr. Freeze is also considering living persons so Barbara is the target. Coincidence or whatever but with the Batgirl as prisoner Mr. Freeze will not have exactly an easy time and eventually he will end practically as a victim! One the other hand we have our two heroes having basically the normal routine and everything is just too straight. By the end we have that Barbara never had real problems even that she was kidnapped with a desperate Mr. Freeze and that the real problem was the place where Mr. freeze was living. This movie could have been much better and more special since it was a great premise to have the enemy in a more human situation that still will put some lives in danger. The final scene is great on that way not showing Mr. Freeze but Victor Fries finally watching what he was fighting for as a true event. I do liked this movie but just that. I could purchase its DVD for a very low price and it was a worthy purchase.
