It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

So there is a big difference of opinion on this movie. I really think it boils down to the expectations of the reviewers.First, IMDb tends to have an audience that skews younger, and is more interested in explosions and gore than storytelling. This is NOT an explosions and gore kinda movie--it is a thoughtful, character driven thriller with a lot to say. To those who care to listen and think beyond the ordinary.Second, and i have seen this on other "peer review" sites, there are always people who just want to hate on a movie and have their voice heard. I doubt they have any clue about how films are made, and so have little understanding of the process. The guy who went on and on about the bad editing, for example--funny, i did not see those problems, nor did anyone else mention them. So my opinion is that this is an interestingly quirky thriller that really deserves people's attention- -not everyone will love it, but anyone who is being fair to the film will give it much higher than the one and two star ratings the younger set like to give. Bottom line--i have never rated any movie less than a 3, and i have seen some horrible movies! In other words, i suggest you throw out the highs and the lows, and look at the ratings that more in the middle, where this strong indie thriller belongs.Don't listen to the hate. There's too much of that out there as it is.

The reason I am confused is that I can't see how this film got finance or distribution.First off, the production is full of technical gaffs - not least in editing. In several places the film has been edited so that the dialogue does not match (or flow in any way) from one shot to another. There are a few shots where it is obvious 'action' has been called as the actors suddenly go from their start positions into whatever interaction the shot calls for.In some shots the actor(s) is left in one position and in the next shot the actor is in a different position or pose, even though it is supposed to flow as one.The acting is strained at the beginning of the film - especially the actor who plays the son - although it does get slightly better as the film progresses - or perhaps I just didn't notice it anymore with so many technical issues and trying to figure out how the edits could possibly have been considered passable. The whole film is like one big slapped together rush. The only saving grace is Rachel Alig - who does quite a reasonable job of acting (against the odds I suspect) - and has several half naked scenes (although this seems to be something of a trademark of hers) - which in the end do nothing to alleviate the strain of watching this hacked together set of images. At first I thought this was some king of home made video, or an experiment by first year film students, but apparently I was wrong. This was supposed to be a proper film.Never mind. Whatever went wrong in this may be addressed by all those involved when they work on other productions. Hopefully they will see it as a learning curve - never to be repeated. As for the story - well - it's just not worth going into.

After i've watched this movie i really feel i should write a short helpful review. DON'T WATCH IT. I can't describe how bad it is, honestly. While i was watching i had only one question on my mind. Which is worse the plot, the acting or the directing? Still unanswered. I've seen some bad movies now and then, i'm usually neutral about them but this got out of hand. No action at all, 1 hour and a half i could have spent doing nothing. To be fair though, it had some moments that could make this movie work as an average comedy. For example while the couple was in bed they were seeing visions on the ceiling. For real, they actually did it twice. I laughed, that got me.

This movie has a "Hitchcokian" feel to it. There's an interesting relationship between "Marion" & "Rebecca" and a rather sick little idea that they come up with and act out on. And then there's some other twists and turns that the movie takes from there. It's also shot in a way that moves the pace along nicely from start to finish. I have to say , a lot of people tend to be "haters" when it comes to Indie films, so I encourage most people to take that into consideration when they see negative reviews of Indie films like this. There's going to be a lot of people who just automatically hate it simply because it's low budget, similar to how some people hate all black & white movies because they're black and white or how some people hate all foreign films because they have subtitles and they just hate subtitles. So that's what is going on with so many indie bashing reviews. Please keep that in mind when browsing through those types of reviews. On the other side of the coin, if you're a fan of indie films, and thankfully there are more and more people becoming as such, this movie is definitely worth checking out. Give it a try. And I don't mean give it 5 minutes. I mean, sit down and give the movie a real chance to develop.
