Waste of time
... View MoreTo me, this movie is perfection.
... View MoreIt's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
... View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
... View MoreThis film is really undeserving of all the hate it receives on this website. I'll chalk up all the negative reviews to being sentiments disappointed die hard fans of American Psycho and it's film adaptation. Of course, this feature deviates from its predecessor throughout, and no doubt was based on an original script that had nothing to do with American Psycho. Honestly it's title doesn't hurt it in the slightest, as many viewers will forget it's related to American Psycho once they get into the movie. At its heart, this is an engaging and darkly humorous serial killer flick which doesn't take itself too seriously. Acting from the leads is decent, and Kunis convincing and charmingly likable as our protagonist. If this film happens to be playing on TV Or you're board surfing the Netflix queue, I recommend checking this out for fans of cheesy slashers. It's not great, but worth a watch, and not a waste of time. I think if the title had been something different entirely, it would have a rating in either the 5 or 6 range, and maybe even a small cult following.
... View MoreThis is an awful movie. A ten year girl gets kidnapped by the killer form the first American psycho. She killers him in self d.e.f.e.n.c.e. When she is eighteen she becomes a serial killer. And some it is because of what h.a.p.p.e.n.d when she was ten? This movie is badly written and has an awful ending. Do not see this movie. It is a a wast of money. It also a wast of time. Good actors wasted there talent being in this awful movie. It is not scary. I do not know how this got groped as a comedy. Where was the hummer? I need more lines. And I am running out of things to say. This movie is one of the worst horror movie ever made.
... View MoreAt the age of 12, Rachael (Mila Kunis) is held captive by Patrick Bateman along with her babysitter. She manages to escape leaving behind a dead Patrick. She doesn't tell anybody and becomes fascinated with psycho killers. Six years later, she's an ace student eagerly attending professor Starkman (William Shatner)'s class. She is pushing to be the new class assistant and on the fast track to the FBI. But the school administrator doesn't let freshmen apply. That's before she was murdered by a hooded killer. Brian (Robin Dunne) is a scheming rich boy with poor grades who is underhandedly pushing for the same job.Mary Harron is gone. Of course, Christian Bale is nowhere to be seen. That's not all there is to the changes. The tone is all light weight. It feels like Nancy Drew takes up killing. That music just makes everything worst. So one must abandon the original to see this movie for what it is and not what one wants it to be. A serial killing Nancy Drew is not the worst concept. I wish it was done better and without that annoying music. About halfway thru, there is a nice little reveal. It changes the tone temporarily to something better but it changes back. That music and the comical tone just makes this movie feel very cheesy. Even the final reveal which is nice cannot save this.
... View MoreIf this movie had been made as just another crime/thriller movie and not as a sequel to American Psycho, I honestly think it would have been slightly more successful; the reason being is that those who have seen the first movie will have high expectations of this one (unless they have viewed this IMDb page) and be making comparisons throughout the 90 minute duration. As a sequel to a highly successful thriller movie, this movie falls far short of the mark; even as a thriller this movie still falls short. Both the story and the characters are highly undeveloped, which makes the movie unbelievable. In comparison to the first film it is nowhere near as graphic, which contributes to the unbelievable story and makes the film less sadistic. Parts of the dialogue are laughable but not in a black comedy way like the first one. One of the biggest problems I had with the film is that nobody noticed when someone was killed, there was no police investigation, no panic from the community and this is where the movie again tries to use the same elements that made the first one so successful but in this setting I think it leaves the audience questioning why and adding to the incredulous story. All the shortcomings of the film are because it tries to emulate the first one but in order to even be considered on the same level as the first this film needed to be a lot darker, wittier and graphic and then developed further from that. Really the only positives I can say about this film is the performances from Mila Kunis and William Shatner were brilliant; I think they have done well to breathe life into a dull script and really carried the movie. Parts of the dialogue were also well written ("ribbed for her pleasure" for example) but I think these moments were well out weighed by the negatives. If you have seen the first film and found it to be a masterpiece of both filmmaking and storytelling, then you will need to lower your expectations immensely before seeing this but if you are looking for a b-grade possibly even c-grade movie that's lightly entertaining but still a cut above Sharknado and Paranormal Activity 2 than this film is for you.
