Dreadfully Boring
... View MoreDid you people see the same film I saw?
... View MoreA film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
... View MoreThe movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
... View MoreThis was actually my first movie I was in! I was 14 years old and at the BALLOON and WINE FESTIVAL with my family in Temecula, CA. I was actually in a few scenes...One where one of the fellows is chasing another guy and they actually jumped over our blanket... and another scene where they were filming at a "PORTA POTTY". It was really the first time I wanted to become an actor and being in this movie seeing myself on screen was cool! The movie was eh, alright... I mean it wasn't no ACTION PACKED ADVENTURE or nothing but a well shot movie, in my opinion! If i were to be in the sequel that would be awesome! We could call it... "GETTING FADED IN THE COUNTRY SIDE" ha-ha... Thanks for reading my review!
... View MoreI saw this film during a boring bus-journey and it was fantastic for me! (Not because of the boring journey, it really was a fantastic movie...) First I thought that it will be not so good, but the actors, the famous and unknown actors and actresses were great, I really loved Dudley and Jack, I'm so sad, that they don't live with us anymore... And the act of Jack at the end of the movie was so... I don't know any word for this, but it was unforgettable. Thanks for the actors, director and everybody for this movie! I really loved John Shea too, I know him from other movies (but I think, he could not break his leg within that balloon...), and the enter of Ernie Dingo was very good, I saw him some years ago in other series. Christine Lahti was so beautiful again in this movie, I like her because her Finnish ancestors too. I love the movies with happy end, and in this movie it was really happy end - for everybody. I think it is a romantic funny movie, if you see it, later you must not forget it.
... View More"A Weekend in the Country" isn't very funny for a comedy, it isn't very romantic either, for a romantic comedy. It is however NICE, a down-right pleasant trip to some very beautiful surroundings (the California wine district), and best of all: you get to spend it with some very nice people: Christine Lahti, Rita Rudner (who also scripted), Richard Lewis, Faith Ford, John Shea, and Dudley Moore giving a performance that seems somewhat poignant, considering this would be his last real on-screen movie-role. And to top it all off you get the added bonus of the great Jack Lemmon who gives it all some class.
