The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

... View MoreA story of how obsession, addiction and abuse cause a young woman to execute an elaborate plan of revenge. Despite a mediocre start .45 benefits from stellar perfomances from a talented cast and both Milla Jovovich and Angus Macfadyen are great plus there's also some good jokes here and there but what makes the film great is one woman's survival against a man who beats her to death every day this isn't a film that is for everyone i get that the emotions at times might conflict it's viewers but believe me with a few viewings this movie does get the picture right. He has a lover, a beautiful woman called Cat. As they walk in a bar for a drink, at the slightest sign when a man comes closer to his girlfriend, Al jumps to conclusions and believes that Cat cheats on him with that guy. As a result he insults and beat her. She is forced to seek help at her best friend Vic and she wants to move with her and leave Al. Also Reilly, a good friend of the couple jumps in her help. Now Cat must come up with a plan in order to get rig for good of her abusive boyfriend. The whole movie is a about the torment of a girl. Many girls are situated in the same situation so there is not a necessary fact to make a movie based only by this idea. Milla is a very good actress and plays her part very well. That the only good aspect. Also it makes you wonder why she still wants to remain with him after all that suffer? Definitely the type of film that is not for everyone.
... View MoreThe movie is great. I love it. Thanks to the deep script-writing, the world in the film is gritty and surreal. First off, .45 starts off extremely strong. Viewers should first know that the movie's clear theme is sex. Can't go ten minutes without a scene involving some form of love. While this doesn't bother me, it may bother others.Milla Jovovich excellently plays the woman Kat, a beautiful if-abused woman who is the girlfriend of arms dealer "Al." As Kat and Al's relationship gets worse over her selling weapons, the movie also decides to take a dive. Not only is it never explained how she was able to manipulate all of her friends, but she has a quick attitude change halfway through the movie. She goes from being a soft woman scared of the real word to a hard-ass b&%#$ who isn't scared of anybody. The change isn't subtle; one scene she's scared, the next she's facing down Al in a courtroom. The movie becomes quite confusing here. Not only does the movie ditch some of the strongest characters (Kat's friend and Reilly) but it also leaves a giant cliffhanger. The movie is supposedly about getting revenge on Al, but there's never really any of that.I would blame all of this on the script. It goes from great to "meh" in about 5 minutes flat, actually. Like I said, starts off strong...falters and dies at the end like an old car engine.I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys Milla Jovovich's acting like I certainly do. Otherwise, stray away from this movie,

View MoreThis is one of those movies that may have passed you by when it was first released but it just goes to show that there are a lot of great movies out there that the big studios stupidly pass up. .45 has great characters, dialogue that will make you cringe and laugh and writer/director Gary Lennon obviously knows what he's doing with the script and the camera. He has some great shots in this and creates an intense mood that works with the script and takes you on a hell of a ride. Make sure to check out .45. Milla Jovovich will surprise you with not just her intensity but also her vulnerability. In fact, everyone is good in this film...and Lennon also gives New York City a great look. Can't wait for more from this gifted auteur!
