The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

Holly Tyler (Amanda Bynes)'s father is moving to Japan for his new job. She stays with her strait-laced sister Valerie (Jennie Garth) for a final week before moving. Val has a great life in NYC. Holly is nothing but trouble. Despite the various disasters, Val takes her in. Gary Thorpe is her best friend. Lauren starts out as a competitive co-worker and ends up as Val's best friend. In the 2nd season, Holly finds a new friend in rebellious Tina Haven. The two Tyler sisters find love and heartbreak. This was when Amanda Bynes was still cute and funny. She's doing broad and sometime slapstick comedy. This has photogenic actors in a perfectly OK blend of single-gal sitcom and teenage comedy. The rotating boyfriend carousel does get tiresome. It's hard to say any of the boyfriends truly stuck. In the end, the best couple is probably Holly and Val although Gary and Tina do find each other. This is a passable cute sitcom with some serviceable laughs.

Not much I can say about this show except that it's a great one.I actually never heard of this sitcom until I took a trip to the states and saw this on TV along with some show starring Reba Macintyre (wow). After hating Reba, I proceeded to watch WILAY and was amazingly surprised; Jennie Garth pulls off an amazing comedic starring role as Val, the surprisingly witty older sister of Amanda Bynes' Holly. The supporting cast is only at a par level with the exception of Wesley Jonathan's "token black" character Gary who's performance outdoes his City Guys run. After mentioning these three characters comes my biggest peeve of the show: Everyone Else.Any characters you see in the opening credits of any season aside from the said three characters are there for basically that season. Any love interests in the show are put into the credits only to be written off the show when it's been decided that the relationship ends. Any time you have committed to any of these characters ends up being wasted.

I have just started watching the TV series "What I like About You" and I must say that is a joy to watch. I always like to see new shows do well considering a lot of shows go off before you really get a feel for them. I have watched Amanda Bynes since "All That" she is truly a funny girl, what is the best about her comedy is that its so natural and what i mean about that is, its something that a person could here there best friend saying, its not rehearsed.I just recently started watching the show and have fell in love. I am just watching re-runs as of now but am looking forward to the next season. All the characters in the show give something to the whole story line. Its nice to see some old face from other shows I enjoyed watching in the past such as, Jennie Garth from "90210", Leslie Grossman from "Popular", and Wesley Jonathan from "City Guys." The New Character are very talented as well, Nick Zano has that charm the makes you love him even when he is doing something wrong to holly (Bynes).Overall this show has the right ingredients to be successful, I look forward to watching it grow.

Need I go on? IMDb says they want ten lines, so I will. There are three regular TV series I watch that are not news, sports, soaps, or reruns. They are The Sopranos, George Lopez, and this show.I do not watch this show because I enjoy it. I barely remember the characters or the plots, but they were smart enough to cast the one and only Amanda Bynes, which is reason enough to tune in any week. Along the way, you'll see moments that one day will contribute to one of those montages they give for lifetime achievement awards, something Amanda could already have given her domination of the Nickelodian network for the past decade or so.For the plot, they chose to make Amanda's character, Holly, a teen living in the shadow of her big sister, but the actresses are doing the reversed, as Jennie Garth (or anyone else) doesn't hold a candle to this incredibly talented, versatile, experienced, and increasingly beautiful emerging superstar who reminds us that not all teenage females are walking tabloid scandals. The lack of controversy and gossip surrounding Amanda Bynes keeps her in the background more than she should be, but within the industry, and increasingly without, she accumulates fans the way a snowball rolling downhill accumulates snow in that her followers stick with her no matter what she does.Don't forget folks, the show is on the WB Network Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. eastern. Don't miss it!
