In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

A lot of sources can give you the early life bios and successes, but this show gives the details of what happens in those "dark years", the years after the music stops. Everyone knows the Luther Vandross, the Marvin Gaye, the Billie Holliday, and the Diana Ross. But what about Phyllis Hyman, Donny Hathaway, DeBarge, etc..., prepare yourself for some enlightening, entertaining, and at times saddening, moments while watching this.
