A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

It just keeps getting worse and makes less and less sense every episode.I liked the start of the series as it showed the machine and how people travelled to the future, but when they had both arrived in the future it was just another good guy chasing bad guy type of story. But even then, the bad guy with his hostages followed the same silly and predictable story lines. When one hostage manages to escape by whacking Jack over the head and knocking him out, the story gets sillier and sillier. What would you do if you just knocked someone out and they started to come round before you had freed the other hostage? Answer: you'd hit him again. So why didn't this silly hostage hit him again? Who knows. So Jack gets up and she's a hostage again. So silly. Bye. Switch channel.Oh, and those ridiculously over-done "English" accents are a turn-off too.

I don't know what is more annoying that H.G Wells have a to be a character who invented the time machine or that 'writers seem to like to call Him "H.G" call him Herbert or Mr Wells, and when was he ever a scientist? Anyway Wells has a time machine he has created in his basement and has a bunch of nobles/posh friends around in what looks very similar to the start of Blackadder: Back & Forth (which is probably a nod to Wells in the first place) The Time machine is stolen by "the ripper" we don't have a second time machine to go chasing after him but conveniently the time machine returns to where ever the key is! wouldn't it make more sense for the key to be required for the machine to work? but then how would you chase him? #plotdevice bad science: sometimes the time machine actually poofs out of existence in current time and appears at the new time and location even able to cross continents other times its played out as if the machine it self is static has to be physically moved and maintained while only its contents travel, the writers haven't quite decided and change based on whichever they wanted it to be at the time.there's a weak romance sub plot akin to a chick flick fan service mostly uninteresting and lacking any chemistry.Wells adapts to the future far to easily and the actor who plays him seems to be always standing off to the side somewhere grinning like an oblivious Cheshire cat.I think hiding H.G. Wells works in the show should be cool Easter egg type things but they don't make any attempt to hide anything. he runs into his own creations far too often and its more cringe than a nod.the story goes round in circles tries to make characters complex and just makes them look like they don't know what they are doing.probably give this one a miss.

I am big fan of H. G. Wells, mainly of his novel The Time Machine. The adventures of this book are amazing. However, this TV Series needs to explore more the concept of time travel. On the book there was a very interesting explanation about how the time travel is possible, the author explained about the fourth dimension, how we are constantly traveling on time when we think about the past events… This explanation made us believe that travel on time is really possible. While on the TV Series this explanation is summarized in a few simplistic sentences. Besides, there are few long time travels, and when it happens it does not shows the transformation in the environment such as the aging of the objects around. I think these details would make it more plausible.By now, I have just watched a romantic story between H. G Wells and his girlfriend, while they chase a ripper. This plot is not interesting. It 's like a Mexican soap opera of the XXI. This TV Series talks little about time travel and too much about the century XXI. The whole story is about chasing a man in the present moment. Where are the adventures of travel on time, meet different civilizations or our own civilization on higher stage of evolution? Will we see the past or the destiny of humankind? I hope so. Cause after all, what is the point of a Time Travel TV Series which does not talk about time travel.

I just binge-watched the first four episodes, and as a fan of the 1979 film of the same title, I think it was very well done.Yes, there are issues with some things (which, mind you were also prevalent in the film version!), so to the nay-sayers I say wait and allow this series to grow and explain them! Of course, with some of the new characters introduced in the series verses the film, there is a whole new layer of intrigue! I for one am a fan of time-travel films and shows from the 40+ year old "Dr Who" to the new show "Timeless", "12 Monkeys", "Making History" and others.Sit back, watch and enjoy -- I think it's going to be a fun ride!
