Very disappointing...

So much average

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I can't watch this without forwarding and forwarding. And yes I skipped whole episodes just to watch the ending to just know what it was all about. I don't feel like I miss much.Without trying to be redundant, this show is dumb. The adults are dumb, the choices are dumb, seriously killing a kid is even in discussion? if they are trying to push the envelope to be risqué, it didn't work. The plot from the beginning till the end did not even feel like the aliens endgame was to take the game. It more seemed like they were here to destroy the earth from inside out, actually I don't even know why they keep asking the kids to do things! And the parents! Have you not taught your kids right and wrong??? And not to listen to imaginary friends telling you to harm your parents and send seriously boring texts? If they kept the ending for shock factor, it failed tremendously. There was no buildup to the ending. The show just gave us twists and turns sending us everywhere except where it matters, characters that don't mean anything, possessions that didn't develop or need to develop. What could have been a good unique idea, became just desperate people running around and exercising their muscles. Seriously that mom that shot someone. Didn't it occur to her that she could just take her daughter to a place where there is NO electricity? She can't even say her husband wouldn't believe her story! For gods sakes even the President would believe her freaking story. She didn't have to shoot the guy.

I am a huge TV/movie person. I am always watching no less than half a dozen series at one time, although, I have never had a show that compelled me to stop and write a review. This show is the one. Not only do I get to see Peter from Heroes- but I get my fix of all that I crave in a good series(not in any particular order): conspiracy, action, violence, sex, tension, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, emotion... emotion- that is what did it for me. The last half of the series has an incredible build up. I cried. I held my breath. I stood motionless for 20 minutes in the middle of the room completely forgetting my banana and chocolate ice cream mission. It stuck in my brain for hours after and I caught myself humming the intro song today while cleaning. As a wife and as a mother this show reached down deep into fears and nightmares- hid in the shadows of morality and behind the doors of grief and loss..all while being wound so tight I have caught myself holding my breath and forgetting about ice cream. Who forgets about ice cream?? If your looking for a roller coaster ride that will suck you in, churn your stomach, twist your heart, and linger in your thoughts- this show is for you.

Are we really being told that this alien being that can travel through electricity, be at the other side of the world in minutes, cure deaf people, improve a child's heart, bring someone out of a coma and consume a nuclear blast.... wants to posses one child?? For what purpose? Does it just really want to play baseball or something? The whole premise is ridiculous. The being is way too powerful yet at the same time for some god knows reason needs to rely on children to do it's bidding. The only reason they made this show around children is because they think it brings a horror/suspense aspect to the show (which it doesn't) - this is evident in the way they ramp up the scary sound effects every time a child is doing something it shouldn't. Are we really to believe that our children have no clue about what is right or wrong just because they are told by an imaginary friend that it's a game.. Jeez. I'm quite sure the writers are making this up as they go along.

This is exactly what they wanted it to be due to the time frame of actually good shows. It is just high end camera shots of people trying to look scared. However, it is really the only thing on Monday nights for US viewers so what are you gonna do. This is so over-hyped and ridiculous it just keeps dragging on but not in a 'something is gonna get resolved' way. More of like 'loopy loop we have a contract' kind of way. That being said...I don't get the popcorn maker out but I stream it because there is...nothing else on. The only real people who benefit from this production are the actors. They will have TV work forever God Bless their agents because they will never be considered as real professionals just symmetrical bozos who know how to open their eyes wider than they naturally are. And bless America where guys can sit around in their boxer briefs sucking on balloons filled with nitrous oxide getting paid to churn out this Stephen King knock off cock-a-doodle nonsense. How about a show where we help the aliens?
