What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

You're a sixteen year old girl and you live in Wakeman--an obscure town located in somewhere in Ohio. After teaching yourself to play the guitar, you begin to write lyrics. Being an introvert, few people have ever heard you play or know of your growing fascination with the world of music. At your age, it would be difficult to move to Nashville and immerse yourself in the lifestyle that is calling you. But you have watched "The Voice" for a few years and it may be your lifeline."The Voice" is the most visible vocal competition after "American Idol", which is now in its final season. Compared to "Idol", it takes a wider range of auditioners. And it allows potential contestants to participate in "blind auditions", where the judges can hear but not see them. For the teenager from Wakeman, this opportunity may be the realization of The Dream--that emotion-packed hidden hope that she treasures deep inside. This show is all about The Dream, and that's why it is so compelling. Banter among the judges keeps the show's tone light, but those tear-inducing moments when a vocal artist is selected by a judge (or four) and finds his/her Dream within reach are the emotional moments that drive the show. The level of talent is higher than "Idol". Potential contestants are pre-screened more rigorously. The viewer doesn't see the "cattle call" auditions of "Idol", that include sad cases of delusion or funny examples of quirky near-talent.The current judges are Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton. It's a talented group of entertainers and producers who really enjoy each other's company and add humor to the proceedings. They also coach the contestants--an added value that attracts many auditioners."The Voice" offers a wider range of vocal styles than "Idol", which pares its field to fit a narrower prototype. As a result, "The Voice" feels more inclusive and more organic. It offers plenty of entertainment...plus it includes those transcendent moments when unknown artists glimpse The Dream.

This is the much more nicer version of American Idol. As it has four musicians who rather than seeing the people perform. Hear the voices and do not see them and would rather hear their voices first. While they are sitting with their backs to the voices of the singers. It is led by Adam Levine, Ceo Lo and Blake Shelton, the three main stays on the show. As they judge a person and usually are nice about it while giving advice to them rather than be all cutthroat about it.Which they need to be. Firm but definitely not cutthroat about it. As the show really is the nicer and tone down version that American Idol needs to be or won't be.

So a couple or so years ago, I decided to write off all singing shows; they're just all the same and have become uninteresting to me. I did end up giving X Factor a chance; it was too flashy, loud and dramatic for me. Then I gave Sing-Off a chance; I'm not gonna lie, I actually ended up loving it for its originality and great judge panel (side note: I'm so stoked that it's back for another season this year!!).So I recently saw an article with some video clips from season 4 of The Voice and one contestant, whose name is Judith, prompted me to go ahead and give the show a chance. I just need to see how far she makes it in the show, because her voice is splendidly amazing. So after watching the premiere episodes, I may actually enjoy it. First off, I have respect for Adam, Shakira and Usher as artists (not so much Blake only because I've never heard of him before this show), and they're a funny group with good chemistry. I also love the fact that, unlike American Idol, the contestants aren't being judged off their looks or outfits. They're being judged solely off their singing capabilities. I'm also happy that The Voice doesn't waste viewers' time with horrible/stupid performances. They only invite great singers to the stage instead of trying to pull in viewers with outrageously stupid acts. Now I'm not saying all of the contestants on the show are amazing singers; I've definitely heard some not-so-great ones, but it's not silly like Idol. I feel like The Voice has a good thing going on with the vibe of the show, slight originality and some great judges. Hopefully it sticks around!

This is the second season that I have been watching the Voice, and I am captivated and amazed at the awesome talent. I enjoy seeing the wide variety of musical styles, and the uniqueness of each singers personality. As a viewer you get attached to each performer, and hope for their success as well. I do not know how the judges are able to vote sometimes, because there are so many wonderful performers. I think the greatest thing watching the show is that these are just everyday people like you or I who are out there putting their heart and soul on the line to follow their dreams. As a viewer you want each one to be a winner as well. I enjoy watching the dialogue that takes place between the judges, and watching how they are able to bring out the best in each performer and, make a difference in each one of their lives. They all genuinely care about each performer and want them to succeed. I look forward to each show!
