Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

I've seen a few negative reviews for The Ricky Gervais Show and I find it very sad that these people have such a puckered anus about it that they have to slag off a brilliant show and brilliant cast. The rating for the show is real, 8.5 or something like that; and, it's for a reason. I'm not going to go on tangents of why the show is amazing and all; but, really people, stop downing things that you might not grasp fully because you have not lived your lives and have no idea what is funny to most people. I have things I have not experienced yet and I don't go whining up and down on a review because some half-brain told me it was bad.Come up with your own conclusion. FFS

This show is brilliant. It is funny. The fact that one of the reviewers on here downed this show and then, in all seriousness, recommended that you go watch "two and a half men" for good comedy should tell you all that you need to know about that reviewer's tastes. It's not about whether you find Ricky Gervais funny. It's all about Karl. I would say, if you have above average intelligence you will find this funny. If you have below average intelligence, then by all means go watch some of that comedy genius, Charlie Sheen. Watch this show. You will love it. And if you don't, well, there is something wrong with you.

I saw the advert for this animated pod-cast based show and thought it looked and would be relatively amusing, it turned out to be much funnier than I expected. Starring The Office and Extras star, writer and director Ricky Gervais; his co-writer and co-director Stephen Merchant; and their XFM radio producer friend Karl Pilkington. They have been getting together for a few years in a radio studio to have pointless conversations about particular subjects sent in by fans of the show and from hearing the news. These chats, or pod-casts, were recorded live, but the big hook of the show is that the three stars have been animated, almost in the style of Hanna Barbera, i.e. The Flintstones, with their conversations brought to life. Whatever subject they talk about, it is most often questions posed to Karl, and the hilarious comedy mostly comes from his long-winded and not always intelligent answers. Ricky and Stephen talk to each other a little too, but the best jokes come from them running off on Karl's daft comments about the subjects posed, and this is where the animation comes in handy. The show's only traditions on the programme is Monkey News, where a news article is explained (mostly by Karl), and it all comes down to the involvement of a monkey, and Ricky and Stephen also read through Karl's personal diary and spin off his unusual and weird written entries. Gervais has a fantastically infectious laugh, Merchant is a good back-up for Gervais's comedic comments towards Pilkington, and Pilkington is a lovable moron, all combined makes a brilliant comedy show, possibly one of the funniest ever to be on television that I have seen. Ricky Gervais was number 49 on The Comedians' Comedian, he was number 30 on TV's 50 Greatest Stars, and he was number 18 on Britain's Favourite Comedian. Outstanding!

this is terrible. Worst thing on TV this year. Ricky seems to burst into, quite learly fake laughter, and the things he laughs at aren't at all humorous. The fact is Ricky Gervais has not hit anything like the hit that was the Office - though Extras was a welcome return to some sort of form - and the Ricky gervais Show is not much better. The fact he named it after himself also speaks volumes in the fact he is attempting to promote himself.a poorly written, dire show. I would not recommend this to anyone, even avid Ricky Gervais fansthank you
