... View MoreTells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
... View MoreThe film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
... View MoreIn 2000 I saw my first episode of the man show with Adam Carrolla and Jimmy Kimmel in season 2 and i loved it and have been watching it ever since. In 2003 Adam and Jimmy left the program (my best guess is they were sick of it and wanted to do other things) and i got a little depressed. Several months later the man show came back on the air with new hosts, new set, and a new opening theme. The first couple of minutes i was like okay, little did i know that Joe Rogan and Doug Stanhope didn't know what the hell they were thinking, they added new additions to the show and most of them were nothing short of ridiculous "The magical Negro" which is a person who helps out Doug and Joe with their problems and sings and dances about the penis, and "Guess who's Ass Crack" which you have to identify a persons ass between a celebrity or a plumber. On top of all of this Joe and Doug decided not to do the man show toast at the end, in fact they thought it was a joke to them when they used it in one of their discussions talking to the audience. In 2004 the rating for "The Man Show went from 2 million viewers to 600,000 viewers in less than a year, thats 70% of the home audience gone! Adam and Jimmy knew what they were doing from day 1 and the series would of turned out great if they would of just left it alone after season 4. So if season 5 and 6 of the man show ever come out on DVD, don't buy it! save your money and save yourself from that horrible torture and just get seasons 1,2,3 and 4 you wont regret it.
... View MoreThe post earlier said that the Man Show was too degrading to women and was offensive...I thought that was the point! The show is sexist in such an outrageous and ridiculous manner that it's definitely not to be taken seriously. And with that philosophy, it's very very funny...
... View MoreOften tasteless and sexist, but just as often laugh-out-loud funny. Led by expert comics Carolla and Kimmel, "The Man Show" is a brutally honest exploration into the psyche of men. It covers for its political incorrectness by never taking itself too seriously. "Boys will be boys" seems to be this show's mantra, but I have yet to catch the "Man Show" boys trying to politicize their immature fetishes. Granted, there may some boneheads out there who use some of the show's takes on life to reinforce their chauvinist biases, but free comic expression should not be held hostage to how idiots might misinterpret it.As many a married woman would tell you, "guy stuff" is, first and foremost, a fertile ground for comedy. And in this post-Lenny Bruce universe, "funny" tramples "PC" just about every time.
... View MoreThe Man Show has got to be the most honest, to the point show for men and about men ever produced. Women shoul watch it if they want to understand us. It clears up lots of preconceptions about guys. And of course, there are the girls on trampolines. Were just a bunch of guys having fun, and we aren't hurting anything.
