An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

I admit it, I'm a total Spooksville fan girl. I've never read the books but I saw it on Netflix and decided to give it a go. I watched the whole series in like 3 days (safe to say I loved it).Sure, if I could have directed the series I would have made a few changes because sporadically there's a scene that's cringe-worthy. But I mean for a kids show it is incredibly good.I love the intro - a clear reference to Buffy the Vamp Slayer (yasss)! Adam and Watch, the two main characters are bound to make you a pedophile from their utter adorableness and their friend Sally is really sassy and hilarious. The show is really witty with it's wordplay and incorporates lots of science fiction and fantasy elements, both of which I love. The story line (while sometimes drags) is really actually quite good. Sometimes they won't resolve something until 8 episodes later, which I liked and hated because I WANTED to know what the clue meant. But it gave real depth to the story.I am so sad this series ended because I am dying to know what happens next in the story. I pray every night that enough people will watch on Netflix and a film will be made to finish the story before all the actors get too old. :p

Hi. I'm, out of doubt, the only french guy who following the Spooksville TV series (sorry for my bad English). When I was 12 years old, I loved Pike's books... I was a big fan of horror books, like that Goosebumps or Spooksville... Now, I prefer King of course, but this novels have marked my teenage. So, when I discovered that a series on the Spooksville's theme existed, I watched the first episode, and the second, the third... and all the season 1 ! I'm pleasantly surprised by this TV series ! The actors are good, the ambiance is faithful, the action takes place during our days (it's a good thing, it "refreshes" the series), we have a great suspense...The only flaw is that, sometimes, the special effects are a little low... But the main "flaw" (it's not really a flaw, it's me, in fact^^) is that the stories are, sometimes, for little children's. It's normal, I'm an old fan, I'm 18. And, often, stories are entirely appreciable by an adult ! ;)No, the only, the most important, the REAL flaw of Spooksville is... no VOSTFR ! It's a good series ! In France, we have lot of crap at TV, Spooksville is good, give to us Spooksville ! :) I'm sure that there is a market and a place for Spooksville in France. The children's wants to dream, and Spooksville succeeds to do that...

I grew up with a lot of great supernatural shows like Goosebumps, Eerie Indiana, Bone Chillers, Round the Twist, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and So Weird. Unfortunately, it seems like there aren't many good shows for kids today that deal with the supernatural. Most of them are really cheesy shows like My Babysitter's a Vampire, Wizards of Waverly, or this new Nickelodeon show Every Witch Way that are more about high school drama than scares and have really bad writing and acting. Then there were the really campy, groan-inducing shows like "The Troop" that played mostly for laughs. So imagine my surprise when I ran across an episode of Spooksville and actually enjoyed it. The actors in this show are downright believable. They don't ham it up and overact the way all the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon stars do. The characters for the most part are normal kids dealing with supernatural forces, and they dress and look like real kids. They don't dress like rockers or pop stars. You won't see any neon skinny jeans or designer shoes on this show. And better yet, the writing is above average. This show doesn't insult your intelligence with thin plots and cheap laughs. There is real character development, a good continuous storyline, and some solid standalone episodes. I can only hope that we see more shows like Spooksville in the future instead of the schlock that is passing for teen entertainment on Disney and Nickelodeon these days.

Spooksville is a fun new show that has great suspense. I've been on my toes in each show. Love the actors and the great scenery and special effects. The actors are really great and the witch is really, really good! Clever effects and good camera work, great artistic design. We look forward to watching it each Saturday --- hope it stays on a long time. We were tripped up this week to find that the time changed. We love it! Given all the scary shows my husband and I have found this one to be more clever and humorous with great sets and scenery. We'll be sure to double check the time next week and tape it if we will not be around. Actually 5:30 pm ET is better! Thanks for such a clever show!
