The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

I loved this show when I was younger, but now after doing a little research it comes to light that the original script for the show was supposed to be about a counter earth where Uncle Ben doesn't die and Spidey gives in to Venom because he doesn't question the morality of his choices anymore. Why oh why couldn't they have done that instead of doing this whole bestial thing =/ which is alright per se but far less interesting and thought provoking as the original script. In summary then a good cartoon with great visuals and music but let down by the script revision because Marvel said that it couldn't do a series that contained 2 Spider-Mans but now we have games like Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, plus I swear in the 90's Spider-Man cartoons they did an episode where there was a crossover of lots of different Spidey universes. Marvel you really missed the mark on something that could have been spectacular.

I like Spider-Man a great deal, I do like the first two movies(the third not so much) and the 2003 show and I love the 90s series(haven't seen the 60s series in years though), but I have never liked Spider-Man Unlimited. I do think that Spider-Man's outfit is very cool if different, the theme tune is well done and the show does show a decent- and promising if done right- start. Unfortunately, what it promised in the first episode is not done right afterwards. The concept of putting Spider-Man on Counter-Earth just doesn't make sense to me, and the story lines generally do not engage, I found myself frustrated by its predictability and lack of sense. The writing is incredibly corny, especially with Spider-Man's "witty" quips. The characters I don't care much for, I actually found myself wondering what the point of Carnage and Venom was. Spider-Man himself is not charismatic enough and I really could have done with less of the wisecracks, while Peter Parker is just dull here. The voice acting is also lacking, Rino Romano does what he can but he could have been much more brooding, but the worst case was the laughably bad accent for the Green Goblin. The background music is over-bearing in alternative to the haunting style that you kind of expect. But other than the senseless concept and story lines the worst asset of Spider-Man Unlimited was the animation. The character designs for the animals and the villains, especially Carnage and Vemom, are just ridiculous that it hurts, and the colours are too many and too bright with not that much atmosphere evident. All in all, liked the outfit, the theme tune and the first episode, but everything else is incredibly disappointing, to me that is. 3/10 Bethany Cox

I thought Spider-Man Unlimited was pretty neat especially with the brand new Spider-Man high-tech costume that not only has web-shooters but also has spider tracers, stealth mode and invisible mode and some other tricks up Spidey's new costume. This show continues where the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon left off in the two part pilot episode Worlds Apart. Where Jonah Jameson's son, John Jameson, was about to get on the shuttle to go discover a planet called Counter Earth which was his space mission. But once John Jameson's ship was about to launch Venom and Carnage were about to hijack the ship and Spider-Man tries to stop them! But then they end up on Counter Earth which is a planet where they have people that are half human and half beast controlled by The High Evolutionary! Spider-Man and John Jameson work together along with these other rebellious freedom fighters to fight The Knights of Wundagore and High Evolutionary! There is one things I was amazed my this show is that Green Goblin is one of the freedom fighters! When I saw that I asked myself why did Green Goblin turn good? But I thought it was cool anyway. I wish there was some computer animation in this one just like in the 1994 cartoon. But still the animation wasn't too bad. Plus I thought some of the voices and lines needed to be improved like I didn't like Green Goblin's voice in this series and Rino Romano as Spider-Man/Peter Parker was okay but he could have done a little better and all the others I think are just fine. The show deserved more then 13 episodes, it should of had the same number of episodes the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon had. This show was one of my favorite Fox Kids shows! I think that Karen O'Malley is hot! I remember in 1999 after 3 episodes when this show first came on, it got canceled due to the fact that it was having a tough battle against Kids WB's Pokemon. But then the show returned in late 2000 and re-aired the first three episodes of Season 1 and then continued to air the rest of the 10 of the 13 episodes that Fox Kids had ordered and then the show was left on a cliffhanger! Although the series ended on a cliffhanger, an outline for the second season of 13 episodes was created and 6 scripts were produced, but never animated. Further episodes of the series would have taken Spidey on solo adventures after he helped the rebels end the war with the High Evolutionary to restore peace to Counter Earth and then Spider-Man would have returned to Earth.User Rating: 8/10BOTTOM LINE: THIS SHOW DESERVED MORE THAN 1 SEASON!

This cartoon bugged me a bit because it wasn't traditional but you can't live in the 70's or 50's forever. I think Spiderman's upgrades were cool and so was the theme music. If the series would've continued long enough, who knows what could've happened. Maybe he would've gone back to earth. Maybe its far fetched but this cartoon wasn't that bad. Another important factor is that monster rancher and pokemon were and probably still are dominating the air waves, which is why I appreciated this new spiderman series even more!
