In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

This has held my interest for the duration.. I just don't get the 30 second 'time loop' flashbacks. cannot for the life of me understand their purpose, become disruptive.. Science talk fascinating.. Knowing noting about the subject, it sounds plausible, and is like a DNA 'who-dun-it' from episode to episode.. Characters, casting good.. Pretty much every actor gets a chance to 'shine in the light'. which makes it more appealing.. They really skirt some issues, they bring up, then again, this is entertainment, not soul evolving preaching. All in all pretty fine.

Really enjoyed this series which has only just reached Australia. One of the cable channels out here screened 5 episodes a week so it was just like watching the boxed set.Seasons 1 and 2 in particular were very good. Some of the story lines in Seasons 3 and 4 stretched the imagination a bit too far but they had created such a great group of characters by that time that it didn't really matter. In particular Peter Outerbridge as David Sandstrom was a great lead character. It will be missed.

I'm generally very hard on TV shows. It's so rare that I really get the desire to follow one through...I'm a fan of movies, and I don't have time to lose on something that actually doesn't end soon :) But, ReGenesis got me! I'm not sure I can fully explain why... Yes, I am science freak. I practically understand everything they're talking about without explanations. However, when I look at it, CSI is for science freaks too, but I could never really fall into it. OK, it's different type of science, but CSI always seemed to me too exaggerated, too artificial. There's something about ReGenesis... It's dark and mystical, and yet, it brings such fresh and amazing ideas! Combining science of today, and science of future, in such a subtle way. Everything is so well grounded. I must give respect to the science consultant. There are no errors or holes, everything is so logical and so possible. And so real-life dark.Actors and characters are all great, but my true fascination goes to director. Really fresh approach on light, on time dimension, on camera movements. Excellent job!All considering... this kept me glued to my chair, I warmly recommend it! :)

I watched the first episode not expecting much. I was surprised that the story was rather enthralling. The actors are OK, if not great. Both Maxim Roy and the rest of the supporting cast are OK, but nothing more - adequate, without blowing my mind. Peter Outerbridge as the main character, geneticist Dr. David Sandstrom is actually better than that. His dogged dedication to his work at the expense of his own life and the people in it is very well portrayed.----------- POSSIBLE MINOR SPOILERS ----------------Where the series goes wrong is that they seem to have a lot of ideas, but didn't reject any of them and added them all as plot points which weakens the whole story. For example they got through the first viral scare so fast that by the time the tension mounted, it was already over. From there off to the next subplot and so on. Blowing from one major event to another works in a series such as 24 or Alias where there is always a high level of tension and unexpectedness but doesn't quite fit with this series.Still I admire the effort of a Canadian cable channel in trying to do what HBO and to a lesser extent Showtime do which is TV programming with a twist from the average drab network fare. One side I liked is that the whole series sounded and looked very natural with respect to booze. The 15 year old daughter gets a beer and her father doesn't go apes***. Can you imagine a teen on a WB show coming home and opening a beer in front of her dad without that being completely scandalous.Final score 7/10 +.5 home team (canadian) bonus :)
