disgusting, overrated, pointless
... View MoreIt's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

... View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
... View MoreI catch this series on WAM when I'm channel surfing once in a while. It is dumb as hell, but I can't stop watching once I've turned it on. I went through the same thing with Degrassi Junior High when I was a teen-ager. Both series were low budget, with awful writing & acting. I think it is the unintentional comedy that hooks me. I don't know how the actors/actresses were able to perform & keep a straight face in some of the ridiculous outfits/makeup jobs that are seen on The Tribe. The dialog is what cracks me up more than anything. If I'm channel surfing on the couch & I come across The Tribe, I cannot resist! I give the unintentional comedy title to Degrassi though. Those Canadian Hippy children(Snake! Wheels! Pregnant Chick with Blue Mohawk!) manage to ruin their lives in every episode! :)
... View MoreI first noticed this show around episode 20 in series 1 and having the DVD it shows what is a possibilty if a Virus wiped out the entire adult population. In Series 1 it shows a group of children forming their own tribe and that they want to create a better world different to the current one in hich tribes fight for food, territory and slaves. However after Series 2 it begins to go slightly downhill because in Series 1 it is dangerous to walk outdoors by yourself and the fear of larger warlike tribes (e.g. Locos, Demon Dogs) attacking you. Now it is safe to walk down the street and everyone gets along but series 3, 4 and 5 have the same basic storyline of a large tribe taking over the whole city. However this is worth a watch and shows many different characters which have their own personalities and dreams.
... View MoreThe Tribe is one helluva addicting show. I watch it at 4:30pm every day on WAM! and I love the plots my dad even watches it!! The plots are not even that complex. The makeup and the hair is beautiful. I would like to see more shows like this in the USA. But we have to be different because this is an awesome show. My favorite characters are Salene and Jay. I like Salene because she is like a motherly figure and Jay because James Napier is hott and he has good morals!! Play this show more often!! The USA doesn't know whats a good show. Raymond Thompson come over to the US and teach our filmmakers a lesson!! This again is one awesome show!! I wanna go to New Zealand just to watch it!!
... View MoreI bought the first series based on the rave reviews I had read. I was looking for another quality kids sci-fi show like Spellbinder or The Girl From Tomorrow. I was sadly mistaken with The Tribe as it is pure soapy with a slight sci-fi twist. The writing is mediocre, the acting is often appalling and the music sucks big time. After watching a dozen episodes I began to wish the virus had taken the kids out as well. I find it hard to believe that this series has managed to survive five seasons whilst quality productions such as Firefly only managed 14 episodes. My advice is if it comes on your TV, change channels.
