A Disappointing Continuation

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

I used to watch this show when I was growing up. Back then, I had no idea that Laurence Fishburne was on the show. However, when I think about it, I remember it very well. If you ask me, it was a good show. In addition, I especially remember the opening sequence and theme song very well. One thing I must say is that everyone was ideally cast. Also, the writing was very strong. The performances were top-grade, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I'm not sure if I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

as a kid, i had little to no friends. i'd go into my parent's room, curl up and watch pee-wee's playhouse. my self-esteem was bad enough, and i felt like everyone was my friend, and Miss Yvonne made me feel quite pretty indeed. to add insult to my 4th grade injuries, my cousin always made fun of me, which forcively sucked me away from the show. i watch it now and cry a little, knowing that for a long time they we're my only friends. pee-wee's playhouse is meant for the child in the adult, and the soon to be adult in the child. we must feed ourselves with something a little more inane than ourselves to balance us just so we don't end up in the madhouse. pee-wee's playhouse is just that (and, a guilty pleasure is a pleasure none-the-less).

No offense to any of the fans, but I only find this show enjoyable through the aid of mind altering drugs. Episodes prove to be pointless and the movie was probably the only true highlight of Paul Reubens career, other than when he did the character in the Cheech and Chong movies, which also go funny with a side of crack. I am fairly convinced Paul Reubens did this role after he did some lines. Have you ever noticed how his nostrils are flared out a little bit? There's some food for thought. Anyhow it was a pretty good show once you got past the silly stuff. Interesting characters as well. 9/10, and I don't know why.

As a child growing up in the 1980s (born October 1982), you could not avoid watching "Pee-Wee's Playhouse." Originally airing on CBS from 1986-1990, it was a staple in the viewing habits of youngsters of all ages (and sometimes, their parents too!)Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Rubens) has a wacky, funny playhouse. When we come to visit his playhouse, Pee-Wee treats the visitors (viewers) to games, cartoons, friends, and the "The Secret Word of the Day" (AHHHHH!) The presentations in his playhouse are always fun and educational, and tend not to drive the parents crazy. The guests are assorted oddballs, such as Captain Carl, Miss Yvonne, and Cowboy Curtis, as well as "The Salesman" ("I'm here to make you this one-time special offer--" "AAAAHHHH!").This was by-far one of the greatest kiddie shows on television during my early years. If you ask anyone around my age, they will proudly tell you that they watched Pee-Wee. (In fact, my brother and I used to scream when they said the Secret Word of the Day) This was one of the most fun sows on TV, and was cancelled so abruptly after Ruben's rather interesting ordeal. My mom used to watch this with my brother and I when we were in pre-school, and continued to watch it with us when we started Kindergarten in 1988. I was saddened when it was cancelled after I finished first grade in 1990, as was many kids who idolized Pee-Wee, and looked up to him as our entertainment. This a such a great and educational show, and I am sad to not be able to see the reruns (tragically, I don't have any on tape) and that future generations will never see what a great show this was. I'm hoping a children's networ will bring back the reruns. I'm hoping I will find videos somewhere, as I would like to be able to show my own children some day who this children's programming genius was. You know how big of a fan I am??? I have Pee-Wee Herman's scream on my AOL Instant Messanger.The secret word of the day is "fun." "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" is the most "fun" you can have in a half-hour. "Ahhhhhhh!" Brings back old memories.
