Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

I knew about this show for a long time. I have seen short teasers, ads and when it finally came out - I have seen crazy fans too. People said that it was simply the best thing in their lives. And I didn't believe them. I was blind. I assumed that the show was overrated and all of this talk about depth and wonderful storytelling are just white noise. I couldn't bring myself to watch this show for a long time, but then I finally did it. I stepped into this unknown territory just like the main heroes did. And I was stuck there. Not because I couldn't leave, but because I didn't want to. This show amazed me. Within 10 short episodes it managed to tell me a story more compelling than any full blown cartoon with 5 seasons could. That small adventure contained every emotion a human could have. I felt warmth in my heart, I felt sadness, I felt the fear and I felt everything else. I just can't put it into words. The show is so cold and so warm at the same time. So bright and so dark. And so full of life. So full of love and passion. The creators of the show put their heart and soul into this project and you can see that in every word, every frame. I can't describe it well enough. Just go watch it. See for yourself! Who knows what you will find for yourself in the unknown.

this is the kind of show were i start crying the second i hear the theme song. I can not recommend this show enough for both enthusiasts of cartoons with some kick and fantasy in general. The adventures of these boys never for one moment feel mundane or aimless like many about a group of adventuring children do. The dark themes of the story make it a Halloween classic and the resolution of the story had me crying like a baby.

When I finished this miniseries, I was amazed by its sophistication and pure genius. With spectacular, spooky and old-timey animation, Over the Garden Wall provides everyone with a bit of appreciation for the effort obviously put into this world. The characters were also superb. I loved how they had realistic conversations which didn't always have a need to keep the plot moving at every second. Basically, this is the story of two boys who find themselves in a Limbo-like forest. They spend the whole miniseries encountering interesting and old-fashioned characters, while struggling with the fact that they may never escape the forest. I feel that every character represents a different view of the world. Wirt is sort of neutral about the world; his mental stability depends on his surroundings. Beatrice provides a negative view of the world. She openly states that she views the world as a depressing place, always maintaining a negative attitude. Yet, Beatrice grows to be a better person (or bluebird) over the course of the series. Greg is probably my favourite character. Some people probably think that his positive attitude is just due to his ignorance, but I think otherwise. Greg tries to keep a positive attitude regarding the journey through the woods, and is always a relief from the darkness that is the rest of the series. In conclusion, Over the Garden Wall is a CN masterpiece, with an engaging story, lovable characters and wonderful animation. If anyone is looking for something spectacular that can engage both children and adults, watch Over the Garden Wall.

WHAT I LIKED1. The bonding between the brothers, despite their different natures, was portrayed well.2. The beast was a terrifying character. Keeping him in the shadows to mask his physical looks made him look scary and mysterious.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE1. Most of the episodes were fillers.TOP 5 EPISODES1. Chapter 10 - The Unknown2.
