Dreadfully Boring
... View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
... View MoreGreat story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
... View MoreA great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
... View MoreI'm just gonna say this: I loved this series!!!! Agent Carter is now my favorite character in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hayley Atwell is amazing in the role. Such a lovable character.Jarvis, Stark, Dottie, Whitey Frost and others are awesome characters. The cast is great too. It's too bad the show was cancelled. We need more of Peggy.Maybe, Netflix can pick up the show. We need a season 3!!!!! Just to tie some loose ends. I want to know if Jack live or die. Was the shooter Michael Carter?????? I'm dying to know what would happen next. Please, save this series!!!! Long live Peggy Carter!!!!!
... View MoreIt's after the war. Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is working for the SSR in New York. She is still haunted by the lost of Steve Rogers. While she's dismissed at work, she works secretly with Tony Stark who is always in trouble. She is assisted from Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy). At work, she has to deal with sexist Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) who is in love with her. In the second season, the group transfers to L.A.I love Hayley Atwell and she builds a fun partnership with James D'Arcy. Being a prequel does leave this less exciting. There is limitation to the drama when things are never in danger of going off the rails. It's also less than gritty with the wacky broad 40s style. It is still compelling because of Hayley and the relationships of the group. It's light fun adventure TV. ABC canceled it after two half-seasons.
... View MoreAgent Peggy Carter, for me, was one of the highlights of Captain America: First Avenger. You have this strong willed woman, who takes crap from no one – man or woman - and is beautiful without having to wear skintight clothing or be revealing. But given the time jump that happens in Captain America, you would expect that you wouldn't see her again. Then we get an Agent Carter one-shot, a scene in Captain American: Winter Soldier, appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and then the announcement that we were getting a whole show dedicated to her character!I love the set up that ABC has as well, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D running for 10 straight weeks, Agent Carter fills the New Year gap for eight weeks and then we finish with the rest of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.I was very excited for the first episode, the most I've been for a while about a TV show, and I was not let down.I did find this show very hard to watch, quite a lot, only because of the way Peggy was treated by most of the men at the SSR. I got that we were seeing was how it was back then but it was still really hard to watch.Hayley Atwell and Enver Gjokaj are unquestionably the stand outs of the cast for me, loved their performances throughout the whole season but I have to say, I feel Gjokaj is kind of wasted. In Dollhouse, he was a brilliant character actor, taking on many different personalities and characteristics but hopefully it's something that will be explored if there are more seasons.A massive kudos to the writers for making me hate Chief Dooley for seven episodes only to turn it around in his final seconds! All the costumes, which alone are amazing, sets and props are pretty awesome and make it look and feel like we are there in the 1940s. There are also Marvel easter eggs to look out for and of course suspicions of pretty much everyone Carter works with or comes across.I really, really, really hope Agent Carter gets a second season. It may not get the massive ratings but it most definitely has the fans behind it, including me!***** SEASON TWO**** I always find myself worried about going into a second season of a television show; will it be as good? Better? Is this where the show dies a horrible death?I bloody love this show! With both season one and this season, I found myself liking Agent Carter better than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and I think part of that might be because it's a shorter show and with it airing in between Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D's midseason break. But by far, the best part of this show would have to be Hayley Atwell and the rest of the cast. Just the fact that the lead is a strong, smart, tough woman and the villains for both seasons is the same type of women. The addition of Lesley Boone as Rose and Lotte Verbeek as Ana Jarvis were amazing and had me always wanting to see more of them.Although he was married, I was worried that there was maybe going to be something between Peggy and Jarvis but with the addition of his wife this season, I'm really glad to see them to stay as just good friends. One other thing I enjoyed about the second season was moving the story away from the events of Captain America and Steve Rogers and having it focus solely on Peggy and her new adventures.I really want a third season and while this show may not be a ratings winner; this show has a stellar cast and great writing. I most definitely don't want Agent Carter sacrificed for Marvel's Most Wanted! If you liked the first season, you will like this season and then we will hopefully be seeing a third.
... View MoreWith so many superhero films in general with the same recipe, protagonist gets bullied, powers are thrust among him/her, uses their power to go up the food chain only to lose somebody or people close to them, gets their head in the game, stops the bad guy and gets the girl. Agent Carter is not like that. Agent Carter follows the life of Peggy Carter after Captain America: The First Avenger, New York 1942. Peggy is at a disadvantage being a female spy working for the SSR, which she learns to use at an advantage when finding the real culprit and help a friend and ally, Howard Stark, with the help of Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis.Hayley Atwell portrays a more relate able Peggy Carter rather than in Captain America she was more just as the love interest. Edwin Jarvis is a very straightforward man with some very funny lines and moments which shows his "goofy sidekick" side played by the fantastic James D'Arcy.I was discussing the show with some family friends and they love watching the show with their 12, 15 and 10 year old. If you're looking for a show for the whole family, but generally dislike Marvel films, Agent Carter will surprise you and keep you rooting for Peggy and her team. If you're a fan of Marvel, then stop waiting for the men filled Phase 3 and binge Agent Carter.
