... View MoreHaving just binge watched this show over three days, I am writing this 10 minutes after watching the final episode.I like the concept, but it is not hard to see why the show was cancelled before the first season finished airing. It is flat and predictable. We are just along for the ride, knowing at the end of the journey all will be OK. No matter how badly the characters are injured, you just know they will survive and you already know they will complete their mission. Everything just seems to work out for them. So this is one of those shows you put on in the background while you mentally zoom away to other, more important areas of your life. When you come back, you just pick up the story-line with ease. The American "We are right, always" is a bit overdone and becomes tiresome after three or four episodes. The father/son scientists were rather irritating. How P.J. Byrne is able to find work is something that has me stumped. His personality in this role is one of a 14 year old boy stuck in a mans body, with his silly jokes that seem to fall flat, and idiotic attempt at intelligent speak whilst jumping and groping the other cast in excitement. Please...If a second season had come out, I would have invested the time to watch it, though.
... View MoreI wouldn't tell any of the people i know to watch this series even because there are plenty other titles to be more amused with. This is a rather episodic freak of the week series with a main background story that does very little to stay alive or even capture any interest. The main character lacks some more vitality and less swag but overall the remainder of the characters captures some interest particularly the gradual build in romantic interests of the main character and the development of the main antagonist. No new concepts and no innovation in the way the story is told with a theme that would have only seemed appealing back in the early 90's makes this series a forgettable one.
... View MoreOverall, the 13-episode series is satisfying!✓ Convincing performances (except for the sometimes cheesy father and son scientist tandem).✓ Gripping mini-stories.✓ Captivating female lead (now watching more of Meghan Ory!) ✓ Exciting futuristic tech (the cyber rendering ability is the most satisfying of all). The story could have been somewhat like a superhero origin story where new uses and more unexpected powers of the chip are gradually being discovered episode by episode and each story revolving or involving such new changes. Eventually, the hero would have been able to exceed the powers of the newer chip installed on the female counterpart. It would have also been cool if the renders in the lead's mind were shareable to his team. But I guess these would have only been possible if the show was not cancelled. Such a great show!
... View MoreGeneric. That is the best thing I could say about the 25 minutes I could be bothered with. One damn cliché after another. Now, don't get me wrong, if you're 12 years old or looking for something to watch without having to worry about working out the plot whilst drinking a beer - this is for you. Lots of bangs and pretend clever bits dropped in at the usual points. It could be an option in place of CSI:anywhere or Person of Interest. But apart from that ...
