I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

If you don't like cursing, vulgar humor and explicit themes, this show definitly is not for you. If you like characters that are neither good nor bad and always need to be evaluated by their actions like in shows as "Curb Your enthusiasm" or "Mom", then this could be something you might like. I always appreciate shows that don't use flat characters but rather play on the persons flaws and stengths. The show is playing a lot on cursing and things like the fathers name being Ken Swallow but it has an interesting way of presenting rather untypical subjects like threesomes, making Nazi friends and the hypocrisies of the music business or drug addiction in a way that makes you think. So the humor is quite broad if you can go with the cursing. The basic plot about a family band moving in a band bus on the road to start a new life and career often looks a little bland but the characters make it work. You get a weird stoner son, the hot sister, a black adopted son with a strong Michael Jackson vibe, a little loudmouth sister and two parents constantly struggling with their relationship and flaws. Some subjects are rather bold in their approach and often border on falling flat on their face... which they do sometimes. But if they work its fun and interesting. Jason Alexanders character is a total egotist, very much like his Seinfeld character and especially the dynamic with his wife is great. The threesome episode was awesome. So don't be fooled by the 1star reviews... this show definitly has some flat jokes and plays on clichés but I think there is a lot of depth in it too.

The fact someone greenlit this is atrocious. It is an abomination. flashing the butt of the lead singer is of minimal value. Did Jason Alexander do this to lose money? Every plot is thinly the same from casting a black character just to have one to having a brain-dead, post-smoking masturbating son, to the ripoff of the youngest child from any number of mindless movies, where the kid is the sweetest and living on an RV with the above miscreants.

Jason Alexander's Seinfeld money must be running out for him to take part in this horribly awful "sitcom". And I thought his old Dr. Pepper commercial from the '80's was cringe worthy. Hit the Road makes 2 Broke Girls look like Shakespeare and is about as clever as a bag of dirt. Who writes this garbage, and worse, who thinks it is worth producing and putting on TV?? Don't waste valuable seconds of your life on this crap.

Jason has been in a couple half-decent movies and if this ridiculous excuse for a sitcom doesn't completely ruin his career, he should stick to bit parts in those. This episode left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd love to beat the crap out of whomever gave the green light on this thing. Can't say enough about how bad it is.
