Surprisingly incoherent and boring
... View MoreIt's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
... View MoreThe movie really just wants to entertain people.

... View MoreI'm in the US and I first watched Heartland (binge-watched) either on Netflix or Hulu plus and ever since got hooked. Later on, I would look for the newest episodes online wherever I could manage to find and I'm up to date and am looking forward to new shows in the Fall, 2018. We crave for shows like this here. I watch daily reruns of the older series on a channel called Light TV (California) and while watching them again, I've noticed one thing about most of the females on the show. They tend to be difficult, mean, jealous, and bossy. Ty Borden is the sweetest guy and I like Scott also, but I'm hard-pressed to say anything good about the females. Amy for example, has treated Ty harshly in number of times. First time when he left without saying goodbye and Jack rescued him from a possible death. She didn't even want to know what happened. At that time, I gave her a break thinking of her age and all and that she lost her mother, but still. Then she toyed with Ty and Caleb both even though Ty was the one she loved. She always tries to control him. I think later on after they got married, she became a little more mature. However, she can snap at anyone at any moment for any reason whether it be at Ty, Jack, Tim, her school friend or Lou. If Amy loves anything dearly, it's the horse(s), not people. She has her happy moments that are short-lived. Most of the times, she comes across as a manic depressive.Lou is another story, so competitive, mean and jealous and controlling. I didn't think Peter was such a bad guy, but before the divorce, she made a point of picking fight with him anytime he came home and he couldn't take it anymore. He was an ambitious man but in order to put him in a bottle, she asked him to give up his company and settle for a job under an unscrupulous man and be happy about it too? I still don't understand why she fell for him so much so quickly knowing that his lifestyle didn't guarantee staying fixed at one place? Behind every successful man, there is a fine woman. She wasn't willing to meet him halfway as she wouldn't leave Heartland. She tried to control Mitch also. To me, she is one of the women who is not really looking for 'someone to love' but a man to be there for her 24/7 and do this or that. Then there are Val, Malory, Soraiya, Ashley, Gerogie, Olivia, Kit (Ty's ex)=all mean one way or another. Lisa is more or less okay in the sense that she didn't try to snatch Jack away from his family and tried her best to be useful and nice to the family whenever she was around, yet Amy and Lou never accepted her whole-heartedly and even tried to deny the happiness that their grandfather deserved by first complaining about the engagement and then the secret marriage afterward as Jack was simply afraid of his mean granddaughters whom he raised and loved so dearly. She is also competitive, but I guess, I kinda like Lisa among all the females. At least she is straight forward and doesn't play mind games. And even though I can't stand most of these females, I am addicted to the show. I love most of the male characters and the horses and the breathtaking location in Canada, and most importantly, the writing and the character building. All in all, the show is put together brilliantly.
... View MoreThis show was my whole childhood! Being 3 hours away from the actual set was so unreal! And hearing when the characters talked about Banff and Calgary, really brought the show to life! Unfortunately, I don't live in Canada anymore. I moved to Australia but I love that I can watch this show now and remember all the amazing things about Canada! The acting is amazing and the show is SO addictive. I feel in love with this show at 12, and now being 18, I am rewatching all seasons! For me it's not just about the people, but the messages as well! This is the REAL DEAL! This show will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!! This show is made for the Decades!
... View MoreDon't get me wrong, the show is great. But the ages of the main characters leaves one with lots of questions. Amy Fleming is 15 when the show begins. Ty Borden the young man working on parole on the farm owns his own truck, is a HS dropout and drinks from time to time. So how old is he? For certain several years older then Amy. Then comes Calab an aspiring rodeo star, well out of high school. The shows romantic interest between these two old boys and the young girl makes you wonder as the 20 something boys kiss and pursue the 15 and 16 year old girls.OK, I know I'm making something out of nothing. Cause the whole time-line and ages of all the main characters doesn't work. Guess it is just creative license.
... View MoreI have not read the books but I will now. My daughter told me I would like this series but forgot about it until this year. I watched the first one and became addicted! I watched all nine season on Netflix (that's all they have) in less than two months. I love the depth of the emotion, psychological knots that need untangled; past ties and relationships that need to put to right. Ty and Amy characters have such great chemistry and need to keep it that way. I just love the family interaction. I hated to see Mallory grow up and leave. I even hope Caleb and Ashly get back together. Of course, As I have not seen seasons 10 and now 11, I don't know what has happened in that relationship. I hope the series doesn't go off track but stays warm and family centered with 'Heartland' values. Thank you for delivering such a well written, well preformed series that the whole family can enjoy. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series. I hope the series continues until Ty and Amy are old and gray with a house full of children and a barn full of horses! I have started from the beginning again to see what I may have missed now I know how somethings worked out. Love it!
