I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

My husband and I were recently introduced to Green Wing on DVD by a friend from the UK. We were instantly hooked, and powered through both seasons. We watched the last episode last night, and I am so sad that there is no more to watch. We will watch the Christmas special soon, but after that, that's it! It's actually hard to imagine life before Green Wing. I know that sounds ridiculous and melodramatic, but it is just that good -- and that different from anything else I've ever seen. I'm now on a quest to find another show that maybe comes close. (Is this a secret genre that I never knew of before? Is there more out there for me to discover???) The only thing that keeps me from now being in complete distress is that I am sure this is a show I can watch over and over and still enjoy.

Because there is no such thing as perfection, I can't give Green Wing 10, but it is very, very funny. From the office girl weighing her breasts on the postal scales to the repartee in the operating theatre, to Alan Statham's embarrassing existence (just where do you start with him?) and Joanna's razor wit, it's non stop. Yes, Sue White deserves every word of praise and there are no weak links. Some times you hate the characters, some times you sympathise with them, some times you just laugh. If you don't like it, don't watch it, but you will be missing something that is already a classic. Pity it has finished. Maybe it's best before it goes stale. Yeah right.

If you don't get what i've just written then obviously you have never watched the MIGHTY green wing (shame on you). I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a programme this much (may have been back in the days of the crystal maze) and actually pre-ordered the DVD's. I was devastated when it ended. The characters (especially Sue White and Guy) were written and suited for the actors perfectly. The script was genius and in my opinion puts other hospital comedies to shame (yes that means scrubs as well)Well worth watching and highly recommended.'ALAN STATHAM, YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE'!!!

This is one of those comedies that you either absolutely love or hate immensely. I'm lucky enough to be one of those who enjoys this shows surreal humour, quirky characters and well planned camera tricks.Series one is amazing and although it does have some plot the main catch is it's humour, however series two is a lot more plot based and helps you to understand the characters better whilst still keeping it's continuous jokes and surreal moments. If you've only ever given one episode a chance and wasn't too impressed I fully recommend you give it another try and force yourself to watch a few episodes, I'm sure like me you'll become addicted!
