The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

I recently introduced my partner to Fringe and this was the fourth time I've watched it. Admittedly the first season is a bit of a slow burner and only gets good in the second half, however, as a whole it's incredibly entertaining and has you at the edge of your seat. Absolutely worth sticking with. The stand-alone episodes are compelling and the thread running through all five seasons keeps you coming back for more. I enjoyed seeing Walter, Olivia, Peter and Astrid developing as characters and becoming their own family unit. John Noble is brilliant and Anna Torv comes into her own. The dynamic between her and Joshua Jackson is lovely to watch. In an age when many shows are dragged out for commercial reasons, I thought it was finished at the right time and with a good end, rather than leaving the viewer dissatisfied with a ridiculous ending (Abram's Lost springs to mind, funnily enough). I still miss Fringe 5 years after it ended.

An intellectual plot .. with great combination of possibilities with scientific explanation , essence of humanity and faith .. and Walter Bishop character is outstanding .. it worth your time ,, not complete sci-fi.. the touch of love and emotion leave an unexplained touch in my soul

This started out with lots of promise, but got too bogged down in alternate options, time lines.. would have been better to have more "stand alone"episodes that didn't twist reality so much but dealt with the weird and wonderful. It started to not even make sense, and left subjects pursued in depth hanging, never to be returned to complete the story! Great characters though, well developed and believable. it felt like the writers didn't know where else to go with thoughts/scripts so just wrote something completely different and left the last thought incomplete. Result being the continuity was almost non existent in the later seasons.
