Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Wow. I was shocked to see that the creators of this show have actually written some decent films, because this show is one of the worst I have ever seen. The writing so unbelievably bad, the performances are broad and hammy, all the characters are one dimensional. It really is shocking. Also, it has that wonderful actor from "Moonlight" in it, who is reduced to a brainless sidekick in this. Such a shame. That actor is so much better than this awful mess.

Made it 6:32 min in and that was even after giving a 2nd AND third chance. I was hoping in vain that maybe the horrendous acting and fake laughter would some how magically turn into something watchable... Yikes. They push they're jokes. Fake they're laughter. And seem to think acting consists of facial expressions and hand gestures. I've really enjoyed the new show 'Mindy' which I find absolutely hilarious and each actor seems to have amazing comedic timing. Its like they feed off each other and you can't tell they are 'reading they're lines'. I mean I would actually think it was mostly improvisation. This however is like you can see them reading the text in their heads. Awful acting, boring storyline.

I've waited several years to finally see the rock bottom of network television, and it is this show (I only needed to see about a half hour of it and I knew). Not only does this show (badly) copy the styles and story lines of about a hundred other shows going back 20+ years, in addition to the latest casual sex RomCom movie craze, but it is actually offensive.First of all, it's supposed to be a comedy but has no laugh track (evidently even the studio audience found it dreadful). Second, it is about a bunch of attractive but idiotic twenty-somethings, each encompassing a different ethno-socio-gender stereotype. Third, it makes a mockery of my city, Chicago, by making the whole place look like a self-satisfied rich-kid paradise. Finally, and most importantly, the story lines are almost deliberately unfunny and mean-spirited: a white preppy tries to show pity on his slightly overweight (he says "ugly") co-worker by actually talking to her (gasp!), an uber-wealthy preppy gets mugged and de-clothed on the EL train, and a female doctor (who just happens to look like a Victoria's Secret model) lets men jump through her window at night to have sex with her (I'm not making this up) but complains she can't find a caring, loving relationship. Dying with laughter yet? It's worse than Neil LaBute-lite. In a time when 20% of the country is out of work, most recent college grads can barely get a job (much less the fancy clothes and digs of this show), and people are actually starving, is it really the time to be putting onto rotation a mean-spirited show about selfish preppies like this, NBC?

I'll be honest: I only bothered watching this show for two of its stars, Danneel Ackles and Zach Cregger, and I didn't really expect to enjoy it. The plot sounded unoriginal, and I have very little faith in movie and TV studios to actually bother making things good anymore. That said, I absolutely adore 'Friends with Benefits,' and I think anyone with a sense of humor and no ego will, too.The show is solid. All its lead actors are adorable and funny, both slapstick and subdued in their humor, and play their roles with a simplicity and honesty that makes them hard to hate. Each episode features a standalone storyline interwoven with the established, budding, and evolving relationships amongst the group of friends, and everything about them is right. The real reason people don't seem to like this show is, as far as I can tell, that people seem to have very high standards for what they consider comedy. Naturally, there are comedies that are brilliantly crafted instant classics, and 'FWB' isn't one of them. What it is, though, is playful escapism that will make you giggle, if not laugh hysterically, every episode. And, if you're lucky enough to watch it with a friend like I am, the source of endless new inside jokes.Totes radicchio!
