a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

I've never seen a show that has been cancelled at a worse time. The way season 2 ended was awesome and I was so looking forward to season 3 but 'ey.The reason I watched this is because Jimmi Simpson, huge fan of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and I wanted to see him in more stuff so I checked this out and it is....AWESOME. I was always looking for another prison show after Prison BreakIt took a while to like the characters, especially Ray, but they grow on you eventually. The ways the runners escape are very entertaining, it's the thing I looked forward to the most. I like how Jules hasn't got an over-the-top computer set-up either like Garcia in Criminal Mind for example, makes for a nice change. This shows feels a lot more earthy and real compared to other criminal catching shows like NCIS/Criminal Minds etc.The whole '1 month of your sentence per escaped criminal you catch' is very cool too.

The show has some few plot holes as I don't really get the concept of calling it breakout kings. I assumed that the show would gather up some of the best when it comes to escaping from prison and being on the run in an attempt to try and get into the mind of the people who are on the run. They instead gather up some random lady who apparently is an ex bounty hunter and an ex drug lord/gang leader and neither of them bring anything special to the table in my opinion. She runs "fast" and I cant say she ever tracks someone down really. And he mostly bitch about how he is being sidelined and mistrusted because he is black...They have a 3rd con who has 210IQ and just knows everything. He makes different analysis of the cons and there behaviour. Why hire him instead of that guy from criminal minds. Or doesn't Us marshal have a single guy who's a bit smarter then the 1.5 marshals they have on the team who mostly treats the cons as slaves that should be grateful that there "master" lets them get a month of there sentence for helping to catch a mass murderer. Ray is just an asshole who uses muscles instead of brains. Don't think he would last long as a real marshal. I hope so. And the team leader has an hearth defect, don't think he would make the physical test either...

I started watching this series after reading the good reviews, but IMO this could have been way better. The plot is good but the characters are not developed enough according to me, I read someone comparing it to Prison Break. Prison Break had an interesting lead character, an Extraordinary Engineer in a prison, supported by other really well written and acted characters. Unfortunately, I feel Breakout Kings to have a tad too many characters, like I don't even see the point of having the Prisoners they choose, and non of them is strong enough to hold a viewer. I hope this review is useful for others and they can save some time :)

The more I see of this show, the more I like it. The characters are each individual (meaning well-written and acted personalities) with diverse backgrounds and issues all their own. One of the hooks (I believe) is that each member of the team is a black sheep in some way...finding out what each of them have done (or can't do?) is probably what will keep most people watching. The actors have a wonderful chemistry, as well! Each episode, so far, someone breaks out of prison (the "bad guys" are also unique and interesting) and our reluctant band of misfits has to round up said villain and essentially save the day. How they do all this is what we watch for. Different every time...never lets up. If you're not already watching, give it a go.
