It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

Honestly, I didn't get it till the very end. The whole high school for those who died concept was okay, but a little weak. Then, the background stories were added and things got more interesting. And slowly the real plot was revealed. So, overall, the story of this anime was just okay but the side stories were really good. Other than that, the characters were nice enough and the MC was likable, though the two girls were the ones with the bigger impact. Finally, the art was good, with excellent action scenes. So, 5 out of 10.

This Anime is one of the best I've ever seen, and it's one that I'll hold close to my heart. It just goes to show how much value life really has, and that one cannot simply throw it away, As a non-critical anime watcher, I can safely say that this is one of the best animes out there and that all should see it.With a clear concept, the anime rocketed off with a good start, giving the audience a introduction too all the characters and what role they played, it is established at the start that the main story would revolve around our protagonist, Otonashi, a young man who had just died with no recollection of his past life, and there is where we meet our secondary protagonist, Yuri, and the antagonist of the first arc, Teneshi. It is later revealed with the final episodes that a new antagonist emerges and that Teneshi would become a supporting character. This style of story telling is something that isn't unheard of but it adds great concept building within the story, how the SSS would no longer fight Teneshi but fight god.The story: It was one of the best aspects about the series and that it just left me wanting more and more, all of the characters are unique in their own way, no generic characters and that all contribute to the story building in their own way, As the story progresses, it is seen how our protagonist develops relations with other characters, and it is through that building that gives us the heartfelt endings too each characters. Although it has its moments, it also has some cons to it, with an anime being only 13 episodes long, it has the tendency to get rushed a lot. The producers can not be blamed given the low budget, story and character development may have not been given the full potential but in the end they delivered. The Characters: With little to no generic characters, I can say that I enjoyed all the characters, whether they played a big role or a small role, it made me burst in tears when the ending came, as we see each and every one of their departures, leaving no regrets and ready to take on a new life. And with that final climatic ending, it shows just how much an impact singles characters have. The characters is definitely a big point in the story. The Art: Amazingly done, I would watch it again, but it would make me cry. The art of the anime is very well done and it gave everything detail, even the smallest things, it was done to perfection.I enjoyed Angel Beats, despite its flaws, and I personally would've enjoyed a few more episodes to have more character development, but in the end it came down to execution, and Angel Beats did it right, which is why it will be close to my heart forever.

How to start things off, this show has a really neat theme and setting. And its hilarious! If your looking for a really funny high spirited anime then this is a great choice. It has violence, good back story's for the main characters but the last episode is sad, you see it coming but regardless it left me with a sick to my stomach feeling(thats how i deal with sadness i guess, i just want to puke for no reason). Overall: 5/5! The hole story was just really well done, it didn't drag on or leave to little, some may argue not all the characters got back story's but all the main ones did and the ones that were there and didn't, wouldn't seem necessary imo. My last thing to say is after finishing this, it feels like one of my pets or family died.. i don't normally do sad stuff but some enjoy this, i personally didn't know it was gonna be sad or i wouldn't have watched it, never the less no regrets :')

If someone had never seen Anime before and asked me to recommend one, Angel Beats! would be the perfect choice. It has a bit of everything... but unfortunately it isn't perfect. Think of it as 'The jack of all trades, master of none'. Angel Beats! has powerful emotion, well placed humour and great protagonists all worth rooting for.The problem is that it tries too hard with all these elements and all of them come off much less effective. It's most notable when you look at the 'side' characters which most of them ultimately become forgettable rather quickly. These characters have absolutely no depth or meaning considering the whole point of the story is about them coming to terms with life, despite the fact that these characters are not even shown to have a back-story and feel as if they have just been created to provide conversation.13 Episodes simply wasn't enough to cater for all of the characters or provide enough time to become fully invested in them, I was also disappointed with some elements of the story too however I don't wish to include spoilers but it felt a little rushed sometimes. The main characters however is the reason I give Angel Beats! an 7/10, The back-stories are really touching and I truly enjoyed the ending. Definitely one to recommend to someone who hasn't watched Anime before but if you have, then I wouldn't consider it a 'Must see'.
