Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

I am a fan of time-travel movies and a history buff, so I was looking forward to this series. There are some positive aspects. The acting is good by all and the direction is well done.Where the series fails are in the subplots. The core plot is reasonably well done, but there are some ancillary plots, that I won't spoil, that are really, really dumb. The characters do things that are inconsistent with their other behaviors. It seems the writers needed to create some drama and didn't quite have the creativity to know how to do it in a plausible way.Ultimately, it ends up feeling like a weak network television show.

It certainly could have been a lot shorter - it definitely drags along there in the middle, and I liked the ending... but again it really didn't do nearly what it could have, IMO.Franco's character is a big problem with the series. I didn't read the book so I'm not sure if he's supposed to be this kinda part dimwit part dickhead but that's really how it played... for me.In retrospect I guess maybe 7 is a bit high, but I did like the ending. To be honest I mostly had it on in the background but I feel like if I'd payed closer attention I'd have been more disappointed.A really thourough look into the Kennedy assassination would have to be a whole mini-series, and while some of that is approached in this series it is mostly window dressing to move the plot along - it would have been more interesting to have it be front and center and ask some of the really tough questions - which it fails to do....Still, it was entertaining, I'd give it a 6.5 rounded up to 7...

Or I should say lack of values. I saw the concept and was looking forward to a time travel show that dealt with one of the most controversial 20th century issues in the US.Within the first few minutes the profanity began. By the time the third f-word had been spoken, I turned it off. In modern America, I suppose a show can't be considered good or realistic unless it has language such as this. I disagree. I just finished watching Journeyman from 2007 and it was an excellent time travel series that the entire family could watch. Of course it only lasted one season, the norm for short-attention span modern America.

I just finished listening to the book last week and was excited to watch the series. I was thinking that since it was 8 episodes they could follow the book 100%, WRONG. My first question was why did it start in 1960, what happened to the other 2 years? I hate how Bill is with him. It was interesting that George/Jake was alone 8n all of it. Adding Bill was like adding an anchor. Sadie and Jake jumped into bed to fast. I enjoyed them taking it slow and her opening up about her past and the broom. Too many "why's, what happened to, etc." I understand it's a long book and you can't compress it all but with 8 episodes it should've been damn near it. I feel as if I'm watching a sequel to a book I never read. Thay always say the book is better and in this case it was. I think I need to listen to the book again to remember why I fell in love with it because right now I feel like I'm in another book.
