It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

Up front, I admit my bias. The locations used in this film (and Game of Thrones) were my childhood playground. Now, I like a good laugh and a bit of toilet humour is OK by me, but this film was just awful. Danny McBride is a terrible actor and the script is cringeworthy at best: I just cannot believe James Franco, Natalie Portman and Toby Jones agreed to stoop so low, none of whom return good performances. I note that two of our local politicians got a jolly to Hollywood out of it. The film was touted as an economic success for northern Ireland but I am ashamed to think that something as bad as this has been associated with one the world's most beautiful locations. Northern Ireland film should be more diligent and ensure better scripts are brought to film than this disaster.

Unsung and un-discovered writers of fantasy films everywhere will be shaking their fists in the air ruing the fact that $48 million was spent on this pathetic pile of plop. The only positive way I can frame this is if I went back in time and showed it to my 14 year old self. In order to enjoy this film you have to engage with the playground gutter humour part of your brain. Filthy humour can be done well if crafted well. The writers of this film didn't go to that effort and it made me wonder how the $48 million was agreed to be spent on it by the producers. The quality of actors gathered for this film is quite impressive so the most impressive person to be part of this production must have been the casting agent. A lot of spin and porkies must have been fed to these fine actors to get them on board in the first place.I'm sure that when the filming was under way they rolled their eyes at the script and ached with embarrassment whilst they longed to move on to the next show. Natalie Portman's class shone through as best it could given what she had to work with. Danny McBride takes the bullet for being responsible for the majority of the crap gags and I will actively avoid any of his future films. I'm sure this film is loved somewhere in the world where there is a bong and a big bag of crisps. Probably in a teenage boy's bedroom and no-where else.

I don't quite get the almost universal hate that 'Your Highness' has gotten over the years. It's a stoner comedy. Stupid for sure, but often cleverly so. The jokes come at a brisk clip and yet it still tells a traditionally satisfying sort of hero's journey. The cast is certainly game. Led by Danny McBride, who still manages to be likable even when he's being a jerk, they fully sell-out and just go for it here. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Steve Jablonsky's score. Rather than going for something comedic, he plays it straight, delivering an epic score worthy of an actual fantasy adventure.

YOUR HIGHNESSI know this movie got slated in the cinema, and I can kind of understand why... but it wasn't as bad as everyone made out.The movie is about two Princes. One is very brave and successful, the other lazy and useless. But when the bride of the successful prince gets kidnapped they both have to go on a quest to rescue her.I did laugh through this and it was very funny. The main problem I have with it is none of the jokes were original, we have seen all of these jokes and million times before. The trailer for this film makes the movie look very good, the problem is most of the funny bits are in the trailer.I like the fantasy element in this film the magic, the witches, I think they're very good and it makes the film a lot more fun to watch. The effects were also very good during the moments. The acting was pretty bad throughout the entire film. I think it was acted this way on purpose as it is a comedy and the actors are in this film up generally pretty good in their previous movies. The film stars Danny McBride, Natalie Portman & James Franco. This film was not great it was pretty standard and a typical comedy that we have seen 100 times, but it was entertaining and funny in places.I'll give this film 6 out of 10."if your vagina is anything like my hand there will be no problems"For more reviews please like my Facebook page: Ordinarily person movie reviews.
