What a waste of my time!!!
... View MoreBlending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
... View MoreThe movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
... View MoreThis is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
... View MoreTwo college students share a ride home for the holidays, but when they break down on a deserted stretch of road, they are preyed upon by the ghosts of people who have died there. Wind Chill was a 2007 limited release thriller starring Emily Blunt and although her performance is pretty great as always the rest of the movie is indeed kinda forgettable, there is little character development for the 2 heroes and i still don't understand why the named them "Girl" and "Guy" makes no sense, also the main story with that 1953 crime that happened with the corrupted cop played by Martin Donovan (Sabotage, Insomnia and Aftermath) was also kinda strange to begin with you don't feel any horror or even that much of a suspense to begin with plus the ending was kinda meh too. Overall Emily Blunt is great in this film and the supporting cast does a fine job and the the main story surrounding all those dead people although not awful or anything it didn't impact me as i was hoping it would but still not a bad movie it's just a mediocre and forgettable thriller. (6.5/10)
... View MoreIt is a surrealistic film, like a nightmare. Very claustrophobic n heavy on atmosphere. Saw this first in 2007 on a DVD. Revisited it recently. The movie is about a college girl who is trying to get home on Christmas break. She hitches a ride with a complete stranger by getting his number thru a college ride board. Strangely, the stranger knows everything about her. The stranger takes a short cut through the forests..... The acting by the two leads were very good, especially Blunt. The director did a good job with the settings n atmosphere. The story was decent but audiences may find shades of Dead end, The Abandoned 2006, Triangle, No mans land aka Reeker 2 n Haunter. Also ther r aspects in this movie which ain't original. In this movie u can make out when the terror is approaching when the song starts playing in the car a la Jeepers creepers style. Also most of the film is shot in the car a la Joy ride n Penny dreadful. The score is very good, in particular the piece at the beginning and end. Very haunting n sad. Despite nearly the entire film being set in the broken down car n almost in one location it never gets boring.
... View MoreA common motif in horror is the lingering effects of bad occurrences. "Wind Chill" sets this on a country road in midwinter, with a young man and young woman stranded by a collection of mysterious figures. It mostly struck me as a routine movie about 20-somethings experiencing the terrifying effects of previous events. It's not a bad movie, just not much that we haven't seen before. As with most horror movies, the most interesting characters are the ghostly beings.I see that they filmed the movie in British Columbia. Having been to BC a few times, I can affirm that it's a fine place. It's not hard to see why people like filming there (especially in Vancouver). It wouldn't be a bad place to live.
... View MoreGood and plausible film. SPOOKY! as hell, but with redeeming qualities. I felt bad things coming from the point that Blunt's character was forced to touch bare feet against "God know's what" on bare tile in a place she was unfamiliar with. (Something I could NEVER-EVER do.) I, personally, was knifed, sexually assaulted, and nearly bled to death in conditions very similar to the ones depicted in this film and thus you can understand why this was particularly scary for me. I remember praying to my long dead Grandmother and to God himself prior to finally being discovered and whilst watching this movie thinking to myself; "Why aren't they praying" or something equal to that thought process. Alas, they never did.
