Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

... View MoreAmazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
... View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
... View MoreJennifer Stanton(Joan Hart) is initially what can be best described as a modern high school girl in hyperdrive. Her daddy is like a "straightjacket" and her mom is barely a relief in comparison. Both would be too much for most to take. Jennifer is in love with a jock named Brad. Granted, her parents are very strict, but Brad pulls at her like a rubber band to do wild things that most parents aren't going to allow their kids to knowingly do. Jennifer doesn't take it in stride or vent and cool down; she is like the building up of a boiling pot-- hotter and hotter until it boils and then it becomes a serious problem or fire--if left unchecked. Jennifer seems to be a perpetual boiling pot at every parental rejection. Brad is the last series of rejections. It goes from severe annoyance to outright hatred for her parents. At about this time, she starts to date a guy(Nick) that she can fashion into her tool; he's not Brad and so he's very expendable. Her parents rarely trust her to do anything that they cannot verify at a moment's notice, but they leave her home to get away(and she continues to fashion her tool--sleeping with him and giving him her dad's watch). As is typical with her parents, they don't trust her and come home early. When they do, her tool is there with daddy's little girl. Jennifer's dad becomes an imminent "volcano" and her mom becomes a female equivalent. The guy stands up to Jennifer's dad, as if a married couple. Obviously, Jennifer trashes her daddy's car(unseen) to make it look like Nick had done it. She emphasizes that her daddy has been rough with her and that killing them will be the only way they can be together. Although Nick is a vindictive hothead, he is not your typical serial killer or reasonless killer. He really worries about it, but is in love and her voice wafts as mood music. He kills her parents the only thing in the way of her and Brad being together.Jennifer goes to stay with her grandparents. Two partners(cops) go to investigate the murder and have to talk to Jennifer. She lays it on really thick. The reviews are mixed; one believes did it and one does not. She gradually and coldly distances herself from Nick--her patsy. As far as she is concerned, Nick's job is done and she is done with him. Nick doesn't feel her ebbing away from him. The cops find evidence that she made sure they'd find(examples: watch, reports of his trashed car, gun, etc.) and arrest Nick. Meanwhile, without Nick's knowledge, she's dating Brad again--no strings attached. Her best friend, Karen(having a minor role until the last half of the movie), finds a diary that very coldly outlines Jennifer and Nick's murdering of her parents--as if it were a comedy. But, in her excitement, she doesn't secure the diary. She goes down to jail to confront Nick and one of the investigating officers with her story. Before that, Jennifer had become gradually suspicious of Karen and followed her down to the jail. Jennifer goes in and does damage control with the still disillusioned Nick. He tells about all the info that Karen gave him. She creates a scene there to make it official that she's through with him. Before the warrant search comes through, Jennifer burns her diary and there is no physical evidence of her involvement thanks to Karen's mistake. Karen and Jennifer--by now, of course--have become as much enemies as they once were friends. I won't spoil the end, but it is very possible from what you know about the story.
... View MoreThe REAL story involved a girl and her boyfriend, and how they plotted together to kill her parents. There was not another boyfriend involved. The real crime involved just one girl and her boyfriend. He came to her house and he shot her parents in bed. Later, he claimed that he had been smoking marijuana on his way over to their house. He said that his girlfriend was there to let him in and she yelled at him to shoot the mother again after seeing the first shot didn't kill her. The boy's attorney had claimed that the boy suffered from mental problems and had a low IQ. But these claims were argued and he was convicted. The girl and her boyfriend had both ended up in prison and served time, but her boyfriend was eventually executed. The girl was eventually released. One of the last statements he made was about how he didn't think it was fair to execute him while his girlfriend walked free, since they had both been part of the murder. He claimed to have been reformed and he wanted another chance at life. He never got that chance. I personally don't like it when "true crime" books TV shows and movies change the facts. I wish they'd just tell it the way it actually was. This movie does not give you the real story. Besides, Melissa Joan Hart's acting was just awful.
... View MoreI like the movie. Twisted Desire had Jeremy Jordan, one of my favorite and one of the cutest actors ever. Melissa Joan Hart is a good actress. I've seen most of her movies but all of Jeremy Jordan's. The thing i dislike about Twisted Desire is when "Nick" gets arrested and "Jennifer" rats him out. Twisted Desire is my second favorite movie. My first is The Goonies. But i still love Jeremy Jordan.
