The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Wow. That was stupid. It does keep hold of your interest throughout the film while keeping you wondering why the main character Issac keeps making rookie mistakes. They had to make him a back woods sounding soldier too right? Because that's how every country thinks about American soldiers. I thought it was somewhat ok until the end, then it all went to hell with the promo for Isis. I am drawn to war movies, being a veteran myself, but this is just ridiculously wrong in so many ways.

This movie was one of those keenly focused stories that held you close for the duration of the film. It truly showed the horror and stupidity of war including the confusion on the battlefield during times of war. Snipers are the killers that dog soldiers on the ground fear most and this "death at a distance" story is both compelling and holds your attention to the end. The conclusion of the story is also very compelling and once again shows the futility of war. In this story, there are no winners; only losers

Over all, this was a decent war flick if you're wasting some time or washing the dishes etc.First, the one-star reviews calling this 'anti-American' or 'anti-military' are silly as hell. Of course the other side is going to say things against the American military. What would have pleased you? If he had just jabbered "Mohammed Jihad durka durka" the whole time? To be a realistic character he is going to say things that are against the American military... that's sort of the point of him being the enemy. Don't be so sensitive. The movie itself is well-shot and fairly well-acted. John Cena seems to be more of a fill-in to bring in viewers than anything else. The main actor playing Isaac "Eyes" does a pretty good job. To those saying he ends up "acting like a bit**", well, I imagine most people eventually would soften up a little after bleeding out in the desert for hours.Anyway, the pace of the movie can be a little slow (how can it not be at 90 minutes with a guy hiding behind a wall). The premise is a little silly once all is revealed at the end - the military has checks in place to not allow this to happen over and over.Military vets/serving members will find it a little silly, the decisions and tactics make no sense, the equipment they choose to bring, etc. But if you can put this aside it is a decent enough flick. 6/10 for being well-shot and well-acted, but unbelievable in too many ways.

Movies should have disclaimers of being anti-American or indoctrination. You get a sense here and there "uh, oh" this must have a "moral message" from those so much more morally righteous friends on the left. Yes we are the evil invaders. Its unfortunate we have given so much voice to hollywood to spread its hate message of America. Unfortunately the plot (which seemed well acted and promising) turns into a "yes, score one for the Iraqi's to cleanse themselves from the American aggressors". It's sad to see all the sacrifice from all our veterans always being poked and prodded by making our military looked upon as the "evil of the world". Can we get an alternate universe where we can send our liberal friends to the mideast and see how they fair.
