Nice effects though.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

If you love the later work of Matisse, like the work in the book "Jazz", you will love this wonderful and colourful short animated feature. This is McDermott's first film, he was only nineteen when he made it! It is a very complex animated short containing over 2000 animated cells in six minutes of film. He used a combination of silk screening and traditional painting techniques in producing this beautiful folk style animation. McDermott only made five animated shorts all under twelve minutes in length, and retired from animation at the age of 32 to pursue a career in children's literature. Do yourself a favour and give six minutes over to this short, you won't regret it!!! It is full of wonderful cut out colours and a great flow to the work as a whole. Very enjoyable indeed. Sad it seems to have been forgotten... as many greats works do in this day and age......
