Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

one of films with noble desire to change the rules of romantic drama. and without success in this mission. result - a bizarre story about nothing. and the satisfaction to see a film for yours favorite actors. and nothing else. because it is a film with many good premises but in absence of the courage to work them. because a crisis before wedding is chaotic managed. something missing is the only obvious truth. something significant but , looking to repair it, every chance to save it is lost. dialogues, memories from the past, sentimental dilemmas, crazy scenes. and the bitter atmosphere who use few nuances from Tchekov and absurd theater. "The Romantics" is far to be a bad movie. because it has the virtue to be recreate in the memory by public in a better version. but this is far to be a virtue.

This film is about seven friends' relationships. Actually I watched it for Josh Duhannel but I was bored while watching. I mean, I do not like really also people who watch it, wonders the end of the film. I do not think that everybody like this film and I do not know the reason. Actors and actress are very good but scenario is simple. So film is continuing slowly. The event of the film is unbelievable the challenge between two friends. These friends are jealousy towards each other. In fact, other friends namely except three friends are closing very much. This situation is weird. When a person asks me 'do you like this film?', I answer that this film is neither good nor bad. I did not understand the end of the film and it is nonsense. Nevertheless, the romantics can watch. The best thing in this film is musics, it is quite fine. As well, after watching, I'm very fond of this song 'The bird and The bee'. I suggest this song, at the same time this film mentions about strange relationships between friends. Namely everybody might watch it in free time and a person who does not watch it, does not lose anything.

This film could have been so good, but turns into an irritating piece of shrieking alcohol-fuelled nonsense. You do feel that such people should hold no position of responsibility in their lives if this is the way they behave at parties. At times the level of suspension of disbelief would have required a professional hypnotist. As for Elijah, he played the hapless, on the fringe, Frodoesque character that he does so well - and so endlessly. It does make you feel that if the hobbit had finally made it into human society this would have been the only social outcome where the ladies were concerned. Save it for a really rainy day when the only alternative is "Titanic 2".

I have been reading all the comments before actually deciding to write one. It seems this movie has either very bad or very good critique. To be honest, when it started I thought I will be bored to death by slow pace, pastel colors and TV-show actors trying to act more deep than usual. Somehow that didn't happen and I actually started thinking and feeling some of the emotions they are projecting. In my opinion what Romantics lack of is movie drama! It has the life one in it and people sometime forget what happens in real life can be more powerful than some invented soap opera with a happy/sad ending. I would like to read the book now, see how different it is from the movie and maybe go deeper into characters, because movie only scratched the surface. But anyhow, try, see if you can connect to it somehow and if you don't by the 20th minute or so - just leave it. Otherwise it will be a pain and you will end up wanting your hour and a half back.
