Stylish but barely mediocre overall

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

There was every little of blood and gore. I watched this Movie because just after watching the cured and reading reviews there was a lot of people saying oh the cured is a remake of The Girl with all the gifts and The Returned Movie and in the flesh TV Show. And I dont think it is really. Im not sure on The Girl with all the gifts as I haven't watched that yet but I will. With the cured, and The Returned I see that they stars of like years after the zombie apocalypse and it talks about having a cure which you have to take to become human again. its a little different with in the flesh as the zombie are people who has passed away and not just turned. Anyway back to this movie and review I found that The paste was slow and it get boring at times. I just wanted a little more. This Movie was marketed as a zombie Movie, but There was only two senses with zombies though out the whole Movie. If you are expecting a Movie with zombies running around everywhere, then isn't the Movie for you. it was really a disguised as a type of HIV Movie. I found this out when the zombie virus first breaks out in 1984, which was around the time that HIV was first discovered. By a group at the University of California. The zombie infection in this Movie is to show us the fear that gripped the world back in the 80s, when AIDS sufferers were feared in equal measures. I didn't like Kate that much, she made stupid decisions. In some scenes her charter was really good at thinking on the spot and was cleaver. But then in many scenes its like she's was a different person. Like putting important things in the front of the car in the seat and than rolling down that window. I think the intro had a good way of telling us a little bit about the history of the virus and how it was like for Kate, I also liked how the first scene played out. And i think the acting was really good. I would of liked it more if it had young adult as they would be more my age.

Extremely well acted, believable and heart wrenching, a zombie movie like few others.IF a zombie apocalypse could happen, I picture a world just like this.As with any epidemic, people panic and rightly so...But there's always two sides to every story and something horrible doesn't make it any less human, or less important to those involved, and that's why this film is so effective.Friends will turn on friends if they have to, people will commit desperate acts to save their loved ones...Typical human behavior. This film could be anytime, anywhere, is far too realistic in its own right...And THAT, is terrifyingly effective.Bravo...Bravo...

After a zombie outbreak, the infected people survive due to a vaccine made of the the spinal fluid of dead zombies and they are called "Returned". Dr. Kate (Emily Hampshire) works in a hospital and is responsible for the wing of Returned". There is a rumor that the vaccine is running out and Kate secretly buys vaccines from Eve (Melina Matthews), who is the responsible for the storeroom. Kate's beloved husband, the musician Alex (Kris Holden-Ried), was infected and only Kate and Alex's brother Jacob (Shawn Doyle) and his wife Amber (Claudia Bassols) knows. When the vaccine runs out, the government brings the infected people to quarantine centers while research a synthetic vaccine. However, Alex and Kate flee to Jacob's house in the countryside expecting that Alex survives until the synthetic vaccine becomes reality. But when Alex's wallet is stolen, Kate's last hope is to get some vaccines from the director of the hospital where she works. Will she succeed?"The Returned" is among the best zombie movies with a dramatic and credible story and outstanding direction and performances. The behavior of the human beings feeling despair for the situation with beloved ones is impressive and realistic. The dark conclusion is predictable but also perfect. This is a different breed of Zombie flick, one that's rather refreshing. I would like to preface that as long as you're not going into this movie expecting zombies in every scene followed by hollow points, you should be able to enjoy this.The main characters are acted very well and I must say the cinematography was par to big Hollywood too. And yes some of the twists did get me by surprise. Go into this movie wanting to enjoy it and don't look past the actors to figure out the next turn and I think you'll be happy you did. I haven't reviewed a title in awhile but was pleasantly surprised with this one and think it deserves a much better rating than 5.9.PS. and as another reviewer mentioned, I couldn't stop thinking the main character was Chris Martin the entire movie.
