When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

Just as all other Sparks' cheap harlequins, the film features a second-hand plot, shallow characters, utterly horrible writing (the film kept me smirking throughout) and a lot of manipulative strategies aimed to jerk a tear or two out of unsuspecting viewers. Not to mention abundant sexist themes which even I found downright offensive despite being quite insensitive to these as such (as they were not a part of jokes but rather a part of the universe Sparks imposes upon his readers/viewers).Must watch. Not.

I am not a big fan of cowboys or anything connected to rodeo. But after watching Mr. Church with Brit Robertson, decided to give Longest Ride a try. Surprisingly good flick, not overly sappy romance...and it's more than just cowboys! Has a backstory that relates to art collecting so that's a bonus for me. Was at first dubious that Brit was any good; she actually looks way younger than her real age so some viewers may think that she is mis-casted. Think everyone's opinions vary. But think both leads did a good job and make a very good pairing. The thing I liked most about this flick is that it doesn't have a cliché, boring ending. Good to tie in to the overall sentiments.

I kindly gave this three stars because 1) I love bull riding 2) I love cowboys 3)Scottie is a hottie. I will point out that I found the editing horrible, the acting uncomfortable (Ms Robertson seems confused when it came to reacting to certain situations, though I confess I did kind of meanly enjoy watching her struggle to emote at moments) and the story line is boringly similar to most of Sparks books from what I've heard. This was my first encounter with one of the sappiest, cookie cutter writers out there.I can't say I regret seeing it(again,LOVE bull riding) but the saying "Ignorance is bliss" did come to mind when I finished it.

I would have given this movie 6 stars if it weren't that Scott Eastwood is such a bad actor. You shouldn't notice that someone is acting. I found myself trying to ignore this so I could get into the story. The rest of the cast was pretty good, especially Jack Huston and Oona Chaplin, who were very genuine. Now to the story. It was just OK. I knew what was going to happen pretty much from the beginning, and we needed the Hollywood ending. Probably a more realistic ending and a better handling of the jumps back and forth between the two actual stories would have created a better movie.
