When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

I went into this thinking it would be a dumb, low budget horror movie. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The camerawork and visuals were excellent, along with the acting. Great performances all around, especially the lead. The story I had problems with, especially the ending. It was pretty ambiguous and practically no explanation was given for the majority of the events in the film. Why did the patients go crazy? Just because their mental patients? Was all of this really in George's head? What was the significance of the blue pills? I would have preferred if the ending could have explained what happened that made the patients go crazy, instead of leaving things to interpretation. In the end it was a fun watch, but nothing remarkable.

"The Incident" (aka "Asylum Blackout") turned out to be nothing at all as to what I had expected it to be. Especially with the rating it had scored here on IMDb.The story is about a group of cooks at an asylum for deranged criminals. The cooks get trapped in the dark bowels of the asylum one day as the power disappears, and with the inmates on the prowl, neither cooks nor asylum staff are safe.Well, the story was adequate, but it just trotted along in a slow, dull pace and never really picked up pace before the last 10 minutes of the movie or so. And oddly enough, this is also where all that was enjoyable took place. Well, right up to the ending, which was just a slap in the face to the audience. The good part about the movie is the atmosphere in the asylum, both with and without power. With the power on, the atmosphere was clinical and depressive. However, with the power off, the atmosphere became brooding and sinister. Both were actually nicely done here - just a shame the rest of the movie failed. The acting in the movie was good enough, given the fact that people didn't have the best of script to work with. Nothing out of the ordinary here though, mind you."The Incident" is not really a particularly great movie, it was slow and uneventful to say the least. If you enjoy a good scare or a good thrill, then I would suggest you find it elsewhere, because "The Incident" has neither. The 85 minutes the movie ran for seemed much longer, as the movie had a tendency to drag on and take forever to actually go nowhere. If you read the trivia section for "The Incident" here on IMDb, you will notice it says: "Two people fainted during the premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival." This just had me laughing, fainting from what? Because there was nothing scary about this movie at all. And I didn't know you could faint from being bored out of your mind.

You guys are way too critical. I was watching this expecting it to be another run of the mill low budget flick, especially with the rating which almost convinced me not to watch it at all.Any movie that has you really thinking about it after its over is way better than the fluff I have seen come out recently and this one had me pondering the ending over and over.IMDb should start having some categories based on genre that can be rated so the ratings are not so lump sum weighted.Anyway anybody looking for a good weekend movie this one is worth a watch.

Anna Skellern is definitely underused in this movie. Just wanted to write that upfront. But it's not a movie about her. It's a movie about an Asylum (as an alternate title does suggest, original title being "The Incident") and the people within. It's also a movie about madness and reality shifting (sort of).I couldn't really start to explain what the ending is. Apart from the fact it that it would be a spoiler, it's one of those endings that will split the audience. Some will find it amazing, what the director did there and some will think he's full of himself. One thing is for sure: Up until that moment (or rather moments), the movie is pretty straightforward and has an edgy feel to it. And it is pretty good in scaring you (visually with some hard to stomach violent scenes, so not for the faint hearted then), too. If that is something you like, then go ahead and give it a try
