The House at the Edge of the Galaxy Trailers

The House at the Edge of the Galaxy is an allegorical short film about the beauty and significance of the here and now, versus the quest for the bigger and better world perpetually beyond our grasp. This cosmic tale takes place at a desolate outpost where a lonely boy is taught by a passing Cosmonaut how to plant a “star” to transform his existence. In the process of yearning for the heavens, he discovers that paradise instead resides in his own backyard.

Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

This is by far the best short film made. The young actor Grayson Sides was perfect for his first role in film. The cinematography was unbelievable. This is Gleb Osantinski's best work yet. It is a a must see. I would love to see a longer version of this script. This allegorical exploration of your conscious while you immersed in the film is mind bending. I will never take for granted what is in front of me any longer after watching this film. If you watch the film ten times, you will have ten different thoughts about what it means. To each his own is the thought I have as everyone will interpret this film differently. How exciting it must be to write and produce such quality work and get the experience of seeing another new rising star in Grayson Sides not to mention the wonderful seasoned veteran Richard Manicello.

I viewed "The House at the Edge of the Galaxy" this past week at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. It is an exceptional stimulating film. This riveting story takes us on a journey through the eyes of a young boy, living alone, hopelessly stuck in the middle of the woods. The casting choices are excellent, as is the cinematography, composition and choice of location. The film's dreary blue gray look brilliantly adds to the bleak desolation. The visual style leads me to believe the director was influenced by Bergman and Tarkovsky.Check out this film. You won't be disappointed.
