The Dyatlov Pass Incident Trailers

In February of 1959, nine Russian hikers ventured into a remote area of the Ural Mountains. Two weeks later, all of them were found dead. What happened is a mystery that has baffled investigators and researchers for decades. It has become known as the Dyatlov Pass Incident. When five ambitious American college students are issued a grant to return to the site of the original events, they gear up with the belief that they can uncover and document the truth of what happened to the supposedly experienced hikers. But what they find is more shocking than anything they could have imagined. Retracing the steps of the Russians' ill-fated journey, the students are plagued by strange and increasingly terrifying phenomena that suggest that in spite of the desolate surroundings, they are not alone. The forces at work in the Dyatlov Pass Incident have been waiting for them.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Normally I enjoy Harlin's movies--he may often get cheesy material but he usually brings a lot more energy and fun to it than other directors who get a lot of "worst ever" flack. But this is bad even beyond being the umpteenth unnecessary, uninspired and highly unconvincing "found footage" horror exercise. The warmup is exceptionally boring and annoying--it's almost as if the screenwriter imagines we'd be INTERESTED in these generic dullards making campfire chitchat while nothing at all is happening, a very strange assumption. When the s--t hits the fan, the film miscalculates in the same way "Blair Witch" did for some viewers: It burdens the female lead with making all the wrong decisions, rendering her unsympathetic. (I actually find the "Blair Witch" character likable enough, but her equivalent here is just annoying.) Then in the last stretch there's a leap to fantasy that is neither original or developed enough to be effective. The sum impact is completely, instantly forgettable, and not even trashy fun--in fact it was so boring that I fast forwarded through some of the early going, and it takes a lot for me to decide a movie is so disposable I can safely skip some of it.

Based on the true story of The Dyatlov Incident, Devils Pass is a pretty interesting watch. The Dyatlov Pass Incident, a genuine Russian mystery from 1959, is about nine hikers who were found dead in the Ural Mountains.A mixed group set-out to film and retrace the steps of the original hikers on the mountain Kholat Syakhi, also known as the Dyatlov's pass. The American Hikers J. P. and Audy are hired as expert climbers for the journey. While, the student film crew consists of Holly, Denise and Jensen.Prior to the hike, the team find out that more bodies were found dead than the reported nine, which only helps to add to the conspiracy that the Russian Government might have been involved in sweeping facts under the rug. With believable acting and an interesting story, while being based around true events, Devil's Pass is definitely worth a watch for horror fans and conspiracy theorists.

"Devil's Pass" (aka. "The Dyatlov Pass Incident") is one of those types of movies that sets out to accomplish way to much than it could actively deliver. And to top it off it is even in the God-awful found footage mockumentary genre, complete with the obligatory questionable camera-work.A group of Americans travel to Russia in order to unravel the mystery behind the mysterious Dyatlov expedition, but they eventually find themselves way in over their heads.I must admit that the movie was somewhat of an ordeal to sit through because it was uneventful, incredibly slow-paced and the characters had the personalities and traits of wet cardboard.I loathe the found footage movies, especially with the shoddy and questionable camera-work that is all over the place. When I sit down to watch a movie that I paid money for, then I expect to get a proper movie with proper production value, and not just something that I could have filmed myself. This was a very dull movie experience, and one that I can't recommend to anyone. It is simply just not worth the effort.
