The Dukes of Hazzard Trailers

Cousins, Bo and Luke Duke, with the help of their eye-catching cousin, Daisy and moonshine-running Uncle Jesse, try and save the family farm from being destroyed by Hazzard County's corrupt commissioner, Boss Hogg. Their efforts constantly find the 'Duke Boys' eluding authorities in 'The General Lee', their 1969 orange Dodge Charger that keeps them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town's Sheriff, Roscoe P. Coltrane.

That was an excellent one.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Wow .... My head is still processing the utter mindlessness of the cretin who made this nonsense. I barely got through 20-minutes of it on Netflix before changing movies. What an utter mess. A ton of bad acting and sad directing, alongside horrible casting choices, characterization, script, and plot. Total crude and mindless humor at its dumbest. Completely insulting and shaming the classic series, which was a family-oriented show, and hugely entertaining. Bo and Luke were down-home good 'ole boys---not lust-driven, dimwitted playboys, always provoking brawls. Uncle Jessie was a God-fearing, rule-thumping fatherly patriarch, and Daisy was NOT a bimbo blonde, but an attractive, sexy brunette with real brains behind a pretty face. Roscoe and Enos were the comic relief, serving under the comical deviousness of Boss Hogg. Thank goodness I didn't waste my $ on a movie ticket, at its release. I'd have demanded a refund.

Not as bad as everyone says this movie is.************************************************The first thing I notice when I read all of the negative comments about this movie, the writer always points out that he or she was a HUGE fan of the show way back when.........One of the things You have to remember is that absence makes the heart grow fonder.......and with the Dukes of Hazzard TV Show being off of the air since the mid '80's ...these people have watched reruns over and over and these probably undoubtedly remember the TV show as being far better than it actually was(or at least in their minds anyway). ******************************************************************** *I liked the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I liked the sex jokes (I was slightly disappointed that there was no serious nudity shown in the film). I thought the drug humor was indeed funny (not enough of it)BUT! ! ! ! having said that......... I also believe they could have made this same movie and not have used the "Dukes of Hazzard" name, likeness or characters .... Because I also understand that "Dukes of Hazzard" has a lot of appeal to children(mainly boys between ages 10 and 14) , and to use the Dukes of Hazzard as a show case for "Sex, Drugs, & Rock'N Roll" really isn't the message we should be giving our youths. Showing the Duke boys smoking weed and getting laid probably wasn't the right thing to do..............although I really did like this movie and thought it was very funny, I still think that they should've made this movie with it's own identify. Because this same movie could've been made without the Dukes of Hazzard name on it, and it would have been just as good.

Jefferson Davis 'Boss' Hogg (Burt Reynolds) intends to make a fortune by strip-mining Hazzard Count for its coal, but when moonshiners Bo and Luke Duke (Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville) get wind of his nefarious plan, they decide to throw a spanner in the works, with a little help from Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson), and Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter).I was never really a fan of the TV series of The Dukes of Hazzard, despite hailing from the South (of England, that is), so I'm not going to complain about this big screen adaptation crapping all over my childhood memories. I am, however, going to complain that the film lacks charm, a decent plot, memorable performances and any real sense of fun, director Jay Chandrasekhar merely going through the motions, delivering what he expects fans want to see, but doing so with seemingly little love, imagination or enthusiasm.Knoxville and Scott might get top billing as good ol' boys Bo and Luke, moonshine runners and general troublemakers of Hazzard County, but the real stars of the film are General Lee, their muscle car, which is involved in numerous silly chase scenes in which the vehicle continues to function despite preposterous chassis knackering jumps and crashes, and Jessica Simpson as delectable Daisy Duke, whose bodywork is absolutely stunning and who, I imagine, handles like a dream.

This is one of the better comedies out there. Better than many of those cliché franchise, this is actually quite Original. It isn't just some body put a compost of weed smoking bears to make it funny, it actually has some real nice comedy, character development, and contrast. This movie isn't trying to be anything either. Yes it does play with stereotypes and things, but that's what makes it funny! And it ain't funny like stupid funny. I thought I'd turn it off but the action and suspense kept driving me to watch it till the end. The humour is actually intelligent, and has nothing to do with all those drug/alcohol driven humour you get in others. The way it is portrayed is also original, I haven't seen a movie like this in a while, in a narrative style, with a developed plot behind it. They pull it off.
